Will I Always Be Medicated To Relieve Anxiety Attacks?

Like many people with anxiety or panic attacks, to control the frequency of the attacks or control the severity of symptoms, I took medication. I was on Celexa and Xanax at first. After a while, that stopped working. Then I took Lexapro along with Xanax. After that ceased to stop helping, I took Calonipin with the Lexapro. For periods of time, the anxiety was not as frequent or severe. However, the medication made me feel lethargic. I never felt 'myself' and I grew tired of being at the mercy of my medication. I felt like I was stuck in a medicated life.

The Importance of Support and Understanding Anxiety Attacks

As I was learning how to relieve my anxiety attacks, I was also teaching my family and friends. I know that many people whosuffer from panic and anxiety have what they call a 'safe person'. That is the one person that they can depend on who gives them a sense of safety and support. Though, I no longer need my safe person, having a support system and knowing that they understand what a person with a disorder is going through, is very important.
