Complaints Board.com and Removal Options

Complaints Board is a consumer advocacy website that was established in 2006. The website is one of the largest consumer advocacy websites on the Internet and boosts over half a million complaints. Some are now claiming complaints board is more recognized then its arch enemy RipOffReport.com

Many people think the problem is Complaints Board and waste countless hours trying to attack this website and websites like it, the problem is not Complaints Board, but the anonymous person posting on the website.

Everyday new complaints are filed on the Complaints Board, many of these complaints are filed anonymously. There are a number of laws that protect these consumer advocacy websites an allow people to file anonymous slander. Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act protects these types of websites, specifically the "Good Samaritan" section which states that "No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider." Meaning that websites like complaints board.com can't be held responsible for what individual users write on the website. Laws like this were developed to protect sites specifically like complaints board.

So if you count win against websites like this in a court of law, how do you protect yourself, how do you get these post removed?

How to get Complaints Board Postings and Complaints Removed

Options for getting these false posts removed

InternetReputation.com Offers Complaints Board RemovalFortunately there are places to turn when the law doesn't work your way. There is a number of different options available for getting posts deleted.

1) InternetReputation.com is a global Internet privacy firm and offers guaranteed removal of complaints board complaints. The company uses a combination of deletion techniques developed over months of research and positive promotion to eliminate complaints board. InternetReputation.com is the only company using these techniques to virtually get rid of complaints board problems. You can call 1-800-758-9012 to discuss your situation confidentially.

2) If the post contains your social security number there is a chance Google will remove the post. This is not always guaranteed they will and it can take up to a few months for them to respond to these inquires, but Google can be helpful when a post contains a social security #. Sometimes in this instance Google will just remove the social security # though leaving the initial post, so this solution is not always recommended.

3) Legal action - We have discussed how these websites are protected by the CDA act, but there is still a technique that can still be attempted for removal. If you are able to get a court order and a preliminary injunction against the person who filed the complaint you can use this injunction to temporarily have the post removed with the DMCA. Unfortunately this can be a very pricey option and is a huge risk of spending tens of thousands in legal fees and not being able to obtain an injunction.

What is the best Complaints Board Removal Method?

I'm in the consulting business and I have had several clients complaining about complaint boards and asking how they can get them removed. It's nice to see a company out there that is helping out others and getting false claims removed! I will definitely be passing along your website to them.

I do like the fact that there are websites out there for people to comment about companies, this is how a lot of people make decisions on doing business with them. HOWEVER, I personally think for one to post a comment about another company should have actually done business with them and be able to prove it.

It's almost like cyberbullying businesses. Like the on Sparrow-Sean said, the anonymous person had never done any kind of business with them, but left a horrible review. I think it's great there's a company out there that can resolve issues like this.

    Hello,

Thank you for this article, we've also been in the same issue as many other members here and across the internet and these advocacy websites are nothing more than money making marketing services that are depriving real business owners of sales as well as growth due to right of speech.

Our company (SpeedySparrow Pty Ltd) has been in the same vote to recent and I am not sure what to say, we get the odd customer that does not get on with the service at times and this is usually due to their internet connectivity from across the globe but they are happy with the procedures we took to fix the problems and even when they could not be fixed they were still happy.

Though, we have the odd "ex-customer" that is now posting on forums and SCAM boards such as "complaintsboard.com" and "Rippoffreport.com" because we had suspended them for spamming off our network, we received reports from spamvertisement and took appropriate action to prevent more being sent out.

We tried to contact the customer via his billing information to no avail, the number was disconnected. We tried e-mails, tickets, and other means through his website and nothing we did could get in touch with the individual.

Later, reports started popping up on these scam related websites stating we had bad support, are not a registered company, scammers, hackers, and you name it even though we only suspended his/her websites based on spam.

That was back in June 2011, later on October 9 2011, more reports came in under different aliases which again were posting derogatory comments that were not even true, were mis-leading, and were just pure slander. The individual stated our services were down for hours/days even though there was scheduled maintenance happening at the time.

The address, the real name, last name, that were all used are not of a customer to us and are not on our billing roll - funny I guess how people can post anonymously about another company to which they can remain hidden. So it seems this same customer (as to whom we are not sure of) holds an active service with us but is posting negative comments about us for whatever reason he feels necessary.

Such advocacy websites are quite dangerous to ones reputation and sadly there is little in what one can do to have themselves removed over little problems that later brands the company as spammers, hackers, and crooks to where we actually provided the best services possible.

    I just don't get it!

I am glad people who own businesses such as my self can have complaints / feedback removed especially when the complaint is found to be fraudulent. I've read about the nightmares and headaches this can cause and this seems like a good way to remedy it.
