In the past some might have seen skin moles as a sign of beauty, but in modern times pretty much no one wants to have moles on their faces and bodies. Some More info

Other annoying aspects about moles are that they can rub against clothing and become painful and inflamed, get in the way during shaving or get caught in zippers. On the other hand the mole can be small and go unnoticed.

Another thing that is ofter overlooked in favour of the cosmetic aspect is the unfortunate truth that moles can sometimes develop into full blown skin cancers or melanomas. It is therefore recommended to remove or at leas keep a close eye on moles.

Luckily for all mole sufferers we have a bunch of good methods of removing blemishes wherever they might pop up so do not despair and lose hope. All of the available methods, from simple creams that you can use yourself in the comfort of your own home, to expensive surgery in posh clinics, all available mole removal methods have their pros and cons. To get the desired result you need to research the methods and find out which of them are most suitable for your personal needs. It doesn't really matter if you choose to remove a mole for cosmetic reasons, for health related reasons or simply for comfort and convenience, the more you know the better choice you can make.

Here are some common mole removal methods.

Scalpel Removal

This type of procedure is performed on small moles that are well defined on the skin and have been deemed to be safe and non cancerous by medical personnel. The doctor will start the treatment by washing the area clean with alcohol or another bacteria killing fluid and then numb the area with an anesthetic, and then remove the skin tag and its base with a scalpel. When the skin tag is gone the rest of the procedure varies. Depending on the size of the wound the options are to simply let it heal with a bandage or sew it close. Stitches can sometimes be liquid that dissolve and do not require a return visit to remove. The mole may be sent to a lab if necessary to check for malignancy. This procedure can be carried out in a outpatient clinic unless the mole is large or situated in a sensitive area or an area prone to scarring.

Shaving
Biopsy can be compared to shaving. It simply cuts away the raised portion of the blemish, leaving the base intact. It can be beneficial since it heals much faster than a base excision and requires no stitches at all. As in the methods above the doctor will clean and numb the mole before the procedure. This procedure is cost effective. It can leave some darker skin since the base of the mole is still remaining in your skin. Another use for "shaving" is to take samples for the lab since its a quick procedure.

Laser Mole Removal
This procedure is similar to normal scalpel excision except that a laser is used to cut instead of a scalpel. The benefits of this method is that it has the lowest risk of infection and scarring. Unfortunately this method is more expensive than the other methods, especially if you have multiple moles to remove.

Home Mole Removal
There are lots of different treatments you can use at home. They range from very effective to noneffective. The home treatment methods are best used on smaller moles.
