Understand How Rogue Security Software Operates and How to Remove It Completely Free
Rogue programs are also known as scareware, for the reason that they practically scare people into buying a full version of a fake application. This is achieved through the display of fake scan reports and alerts. The actual fact is that a rogue program tries to mimic legitimate security software and tries to trick people into thinking that their computers are critically infected.
How is rogue security software circulated?
In most cases rogue security software is circulated by deceiving and misleading unsuspecting Internet users into installing a Trojan malware in disguise of a useful program application. For instance, free online scanning software, free software, a required web browser extension, a flashy screensaver or multimedia codec plug-in.
Rogue software is also circulated through direct or indirect downloads. This can be installed on your computer simply by opening an email link or a webpage link, clicking on a pop window, or exploiting the vulnerability of user system such as the email client or the operating system.
Rogue software can also be circulated through search engines. Just by clicking on a highly ranked website might put your computer at risk.

Removal of Rogue Security Programs
- If your operating system is Windows XP or later, use of the 'System Restore' to restore your computer system to a previous state, probably a couple of days before you encountered the rogue program.
- If you have malware removal tool installed, run it immediately after you restore your system. If you don't have one or you feel the one you have is not effective, download a free copy of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware or Microsoft Security Essentials and scan your computer. This is just to make sure you are totally rid of the threats and that your PC is completely clean.
- Create a new restore point.
- Get rid of all system restore points except the new one you have just created. This is necessary so you don't get re-infected if you need another system restore in the near future.
If you find it difficult to use your computer to download essential software, use another computer.
