How to save Money on Brand Name Clothing
I am a mom of four three of which are teenagers. I have two teen girls and one boy. It can be very expensive keep them clothed in the latest fashion trends. They only want to shop in certain stores like Hollister, Aeropostale, American Eagle, and Abercrombie and Fitch just to name a few. I have found ways to save money and manage to purchase them the clothing they want but not spend a fortune doing it. In this lens I will share some of the secrets and tips I have found to save money.
Tip #1
Never buy unless its on Sale!
I have trained my kids from little up to only buy items on sale. I got burned too many times before I learned this rule. I used to pay full price if I really like something or if my children really wanted it. Only to come back the following week and the same outfit I paid full price is now on sale for 30% off. I learned the hard way but I am teaching my children what I have learned. Whenever they want something that isn't on sale I tell them no we will wait for the sale. Sure enough I watch sale flyers and check back online and it may take a week or two but eventually what they want goes on sale. I make sure I show them how much we saved by waiting.You can save money by buying clothes on Ebay!

Tip # 2
Always shop with coupons!!
Lets say I am going to the mall shopping. Before I go I check online for coupons. I do a search for printable coupons and the store name. For example I will type a search for Aeropostale printable coupons. I will list some of the sites that come up.
Below I have done the work for you. Just click on the sites below. Some I have searched for a specific store. Like hollister or aeropostale so when you click on the site it will bring up that stores coupon. if you don't want that store just find the search box within the website and type the name of the store you are looking for.

Printable Coupons!
I created a list below of the websites I found to be the best for printable coupons.
These sites below have printable coupons and sometimes you can get codes for shopping online. I find some that are 40% 30% 20% off or sometimes there will be ones spend $50.00 get $10.00 off. I have used coupons that are spend 25.00 get 10.00 off. Its fun to search for the best saving. I am surprised that almost always when I go shopping I can find a coupon for the store I am going to. I refuse to shop spur of the moment anymore. I don't like shopping without coupons. I am addicted now because I love saving money.
Now all you have to do is add this lens to your favorites by clicking on the favorite icon at the top of the page or lensroll it and come back when you need a coupon!

Tip # 3
Check the Clearance Racks First!
If you go shopping and have a coupon lets say its 20% or 30% off. If you go to the clearance rack first you can save a ton of money. First you are getting items already reduced then on top of that you will be saving with your coupon. You can find alot of great deals on clearance racks. The only reason the items are on clearance is because they are getting in new stock. If items are a different season like short sleeves and its winter or cold out . Just use layering add a sweater most teens today wear hoodies over everything anyway. Especially boys I think my son wears hoodies everyday.If you like Aeropostale here are some items listed on ebay.

Shop online!
I found that in shipping online is cheaper than in the stores. I was shopping online one day at Aeropostale.com and I filled my cart with sale and clearance items. I decided to go to our local mall first and see what they had. I went to the mall and saw some of the same items I had in my shopping cart online at home. They were cheaper online! I couldn't believe it the same items not all of them but a few were cheaper online. So why buy it in the store when I could save online.

- This store almost always has coupons available. Either for a percent off or save 10.00 of 50.00 So search the sites above to find your printable coupon or coupon code. Most of the time when you shop online you can get free shipping off a 50.00 to 75.00 purchase. Check back often because the deals change from week to week
- Hollister
- I found this store to be a bit more pricey than Aeropostale. However, if you watch for the sales and check clearance you can get great deals. Don't for get to check for coupons.
- American Eagle
- My 17 year old loves this store. She loves the jeans and says they fit her great. I only buy jeans here when there is a sale buy one get one half off. The jeans average around 50.00 so its the only time I buy them. So I wait and stock up.
- Aerie
- My daughter loves the bras and undies here. If you sign up for their card and purchase 5 bras you will get one coupon for a free one. So make sure you sign up for their shoppers club card.
- Abercrombie & Fitch
- My son loves this store great hoodies and tees.

Use Promotion Codes for Free Shipping!!
I know you are thinking what about shipping cost. I don't want to pay for shipping. Well I never pay for shipping I look for promotion codes online. If I can't find a promotion code I look for stores running specials. For example they might have buy 50.00 worth of clothing and get free shipping.Check out the sites below to search for a code for the store you want to shop at. If you can't find a free shipping code go to the store and check their homepage for a special deals to see if they have their own promotion going.

Store Member Cards
Always sign up for a stores membership cards. Most stores have them.
Like American Eagle and Aerie they call it an access pass. Everytime you shop give them your card depending on how much you spend earn points. Every three months they will mail you a coupon depending on how much you spent you can get a coupon for up to 40% off.
Every store is different but its worth the time it takes to fill out the info card and sign up.
If you have an Aerie card it keeps track of how many bras you buy. When you get up to 5 they send you a coupon for a free bra.
Signing up for cards are free and you can save money. Like the saying goes if its free its for me. lol

- Great tips. Teaching them how to use money is invaluable. Train them to bargain shop when they are younger so you set the expectation early on. Another tip: Give them X amount of dollars and say, "let's see how far this gets you." They'll learn fast.;0)

- Nice Lens! I am new to Squidoo and think that your lens is a great example. I also love your advice about not buying anything unless it's on sale. My mom drilled that into my sister and I when we were little, and we've stuck to it. There's no point in paying full price when it will just be marked down soon
