Why do Australians call their beer Four X (xxxx)? Because they can't spell beer - haha. From a kiwi point of view this is funny :-) Great lens, Great place. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent fun! the TV shows 'Neighbours' and 'Home and Away' have made some Australian slang almost commonplace in some parts of England - there was a rumour that in the early 90's, the pre-school generation of Milton Keynes (quite a large town) all spoke with a slight Aussie accent due to parental watching of these shows! Extremely enjoyable lens - thank you!

Another fantastic lens from you! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I doubt if I'll be able to speak Aussie slang properly though but reading this was tons of fun *blessed by an angel*

You missed one of the most important ones - the heading if you will - Strine. As in that well-known gospel and authority on the aussie lingo "Let Stalk Strine" by the esteemed Afferbeck Lauder published in 1965 and followed up by his seminal piece "Nose Tone Unturned". These authoritative volumes included many informative illustrations of yer avridge Strine'. For those who need a translation, the title of the first book, if pronounced by a non-Strine would be Let's Talk Australian by Alphabetical Order. Let's see if you can now transcribe the other two terms!

A very enjoyable read. I have a friend from New Zealand that uses slang I never understand. But, I understand those Kiwis are that way. (kinda like the Floridian who says "Them Bammer boys shore is ignert." (guys from Alabama are stupid)
