SquidCasting Squidoo Groups

The SquidCast is a wonderful way of getting the word out about new things happening at your lens, and it would be ideal to be able to SquidCast your groups, but this tool is not available for groups...or is it? Indeed, there IS a way to SquidCast your group, with this handy little work-around. Learn how to get the word out about what YOUR group is up to with a SquidCast.

So Here's the Secret to SquidCasting Groups

How to Announce Your Group Activities

Contrary to popular belief, IT IS POSSIBLE to SquidCast your group. You just have to jump through a hoop to do it. Don't worry, it's a small hoop (or maybe a big hoop would be easier, but I digress).

Here is the secret:

Being already signed into squidoo, enter this address into the address bar, replacing groupname with that of your group:

http://www.squidoo.com/lensmaster/squidcast/groups..groupname

It is as simple as that! This address will bring you to the familiar SquidCast page that you are know and love. Your group picture will appear perfectly when squidcasted, just as if it was a lens.

Keep in mind that your SquidCast of your group goes to your Fan Club, not the list of the group's members.

What is a Squidcast?

Squidcasts are announcements made by you about a particular lens (OR SQUIDOO GROUP!) that goes out to all who have joined your fan club or favorited the lens. For more information on Squidcasts, visit this help page:

When I was trying to learn how to play piano, I found out that, that part of my brain was missing. Oh, I can play a little, but I'll never be great. It's kind of like trying to learn all this stuff about Squidoo. I'm just trying to learn how! Keep it simple comes to mind right now...

Informative tips on the lens. Best Wishes! 5*'s

I like a bit of everything.  I'm a jack of all trades - ace of only ten or eleven.
