What It Means To Zig Zag

Usually when you go skiing you never go directly down the slope, and if you do then you probably ended up with a few broken bones or injures. In business it can be much the same. Many entrepreneurs will come up with an idea to starting their new business, set the goal and head straight towards their goal. They never took any steps or zigs to secure them closer to their goal, instead they did everything in their power to get right to their goal. There still can be success in starting a business this way, but seven out of eight times the business will crash and end up will financial injuries, and a loss of pride. When starting a business it is very important to make the appropriate zigs and zags to success, rather then head straight for the target. The Zig Zag Principle is the perfect book to learn how to start a small business.

The Zig Zag Principle

how to start a small businessThe Zig Zag Principle is a book written by Richard Christiansen that teaches you how to start a small business and build it into a successful company. The book will be released in October 2011. I had the opportunity to go to one of the seminars that Richard was speaking in and I know that this book will help any young entrepreneur like me drive a company to success. This is cool stuff. I kind of like to think of it as recognizing failure and being able to move forward from it. My brother and I have both started a couple of businesses in Utah and the other night we were both talking about how nothing seems to work out the way we thought it would, and we end up falling on our faces a few times before getting it right.

This is a great lens for small business owners. I run a company called PEOcompare (www.peocompare.com) that connects small business owners with PEO companies (HR-like groups that deal with administrative tasks) so it is great to see you sharing how to start a business. I actually have lens with tips on starting up a small business. I would love if you checked it out. www.squidoo.com/5-tips-for-start-up-businesses-and-even-those-that-have-been-around-a-while-

I am from Provo which is where Rich has his office. He has become very popular in Utah Valley and his company was rewarded the number one start up in Utah Valley.

I want to start my own business, but I don't think that I have the funding should I go into venture capital, or take out a loan?

I had an opportunity to hear Rich speak at a conference at a BYU. His methods and ideas are amazing! I have no doubt that this book will be a New York Times bestseller. Many of the things I learned from Rich at the conference I have taken into my business and used. They have all worked and helped me escalate my business further.

I like the idea of Zig Zaging from goal to goal rather than heading straight to a target. I think that this could apply to anything in life.

Yeah, the video and Zig Zag website is incredible, I have never heard anything like it before. I have read what seems to be hundreds of business books and they all say the same things and hardly any of the methods in the books actually work. I'm excited to see what happens with this book. I heard that McGraw Hill is publishing this book as their premier business book. If anyone knows who McGraw Hill is, they are the one of the largest publishing companies in the world. I can't wait to sit down and read this book from cover to cover.
