Bed Bugs Contagious? Think You're Sleeping on a Mattress With Bed Bugs? Check Those Bites!
Bed bugs contagious? If you think you could be sleeping on a mattress with bed bugs, check those bites! This is gross, but I have to tell you, an anesthetic is injected by the bed bugs so you never realized when they are biting you or actually sucking the blood out of you! They also use an anti-coagulant to keep the blood flowing until their feeding is done. Ewwww! If you have a really serious infestation of the blood sucking bed bugs, you can be bitten up to five hundread times in one night! Double gross!
If you're itching in random places all over your body, check for bed bug bites. The bites usually look like little red bumps, flat welts or skin lesions. The bites usually follow a straight line. Skin rashes are also a common result of a bite.
Of course, you will have to rule out other culprits as a source of your bites (such as mosquitos) so it would be helpful if you could actually find a bed bug or sign of a bedbug in your mattress.
Bed bugs contagious? Thankfully, unless you develop an infection from itching, there is no reason to believe the bugs can pass any diseases to you. The exception would be people with asthma or allergies who might have a reaction to bed bug feces.
So, if you think you're sleeping on a mattress with bed bugs, check those bites and then check your mattress for the nasty little critters.

Bed Bug Report! Bites But No Bed Bugs? Let's Track The Nasty Bed Bug!
The bed bug report shows if you are bothered by red itchy bug bites but can't see a bed bug, it doesn't mean they are not there. Let's track the nasty bed bug together and see where he hangs out!
Bed bugs love dark spots where hopefully no one will discover them and they can stay hidden until they decide to continue their blood sucking ways. With a keen eye, however, you will be able to spot them. And spotting them is the first step in getting rid of them and never worrying about another bed bug report!
Grab your flashlight (just like CSI crime busters) and remember, these nasty little bugs are teeny tiny so they can fit most anywhere. Look not only for the bug itself but also for rust colored spots (sorry, that's your blood), pearly white 1 millimeter long eggs, molted skins and inklike markings which are their (oh, so sorry) feces.
First, check your boxsprings and mattress. Strip the bed and examine the sheets, bed skirts and shams.Lift the boxsprings and mattress completely up and closely search every seam for evidence of bed bug droppings or any of the other clues. Hint: this is also a good time to encase your boxsprings and mattress to either keep the bed bugs in or keep them out. While you have the box springs and mattress up, examine the floor beneath the bed for casings. Don't forget the pillows! Remove the cases and follow each seam around. This is a probable site to find the rust colored spots. Ewwww!
Next, inspect all the furniture close to the bed. This means inside and outside, up top and underneath. Give the ole eagle eye to the front of your bedboard and the back of the bedboard. Search every crack, crevice and seam!
Finally, widen your search to the walls, ceilings and floors. Yes, they can hide anywhere! Bed bugs can find great hiding places under and behind pictures, wall hangings, peeling wallpaper or chipped paint. Check around your electrical outlets too. Do you have a ceiling fan? Check around the junction box where it fits to the ceiling. Examine your bedside radio. Look for gaps in your baseboards and door casings..Look under rugss
If you should find bed bugs (and I certainly hope you don't) and you can afford it, call a professional right away. Don't start tossing things out because you may do more harm than good. You could spread the bugs to other parts of your home by dragging infested pieces through your house. Hefty has really big bags you can encase some things in for removal.
Also, keep in mind that bug bombs do not help and could possibly send the bugs into even deeper hiding places.
Persistence and thorough intense searching are key to your dilemna. Bites but no bed bugs? The bed bug report knows it's just a matter of knowing how to cleverly track the nasty bed bug and if it's a happily ever after ending, you'll find a mosquito!

Bed Bug Report! Follow These Steps If You've Found Bed Bugs
The bed bug report knows there are certain steps you should follow if you've found bed bugs.
First and foremost, you must clean and declutter! This is especially important in your bedroom. Remove and place in sealed bags anything the bugs could hide in such as pictures, posters or wall hangings.
Vacuum every day, thoroughly. This includes the floors and baseboards, furniture, mattress, boxspring. The vacuum must be emptied each time you use it. Again, put the waste in a sealable bag or if your vacuum has a bag you can put it in the freezer for at least 24 hours before throwing it away. This will kill the bed bugs.
Bed bugs are sensitive to extreme temperatures. Wash your bed linens and dry in a hot (140 degree F) dryer for 20 minutes to kill the bed bugs. You can also freeze objects (only those that can stand the temperatures) to kill the bugs.
Relocate your bed away from the wall and don't let your bedding touch the floor. Since bed bugs don't fly or jump, you don't want to create a "ladder" for the bugs to crawl up. In fact, until you get rid of the bugs, I would recommend not using a bed skirt at all. It is just another place for them to hide. Be sure to encase your mattress and box springs into a cover that zips all the way around, You may as well do the pillows too. Place the bed legs in insect interceptors or smear the legs with vaseline to prevent the bugs from climbing up into the bed.
Seal all crevices and cracks you found in your inspection. Remove peeling wallpaper and tighten any loose electrical switchcovers.
To sum it all up, the less clutter you have and the more cracks and crevices you seal, the fewer hiding places the bed bugs have.
If you've found bed bugs and even if you contact a professional pest control outfit, these steps should be follow. Bed bugs are nasty persistent pests so you have to be persistent too just like the bed bug report!
