How To Teach Your Dog To Roll Over
1. Get your dog into a position where they are laying down. Next, use a treat and reward them with it.
2. Now, using another doggie treat, move the treat behind your dog's left ear. Dog's aren't able to rotate their heads very well, so as a result they must turn their whole body.
3 Continue to move the treat back by his hind quarters, which should cause your canine to rotate his whole body.
4 At this point your dog's entire body should roll over and then you can bring the treat to in front of his face and reward him with it. At this point it's extremely important that you reinforce the good behavior with lots of praise, saying "Good roll over!!", in a high and upbeat voice.
Tips: If your dog is slow to catch on at first, take this process slowly. You may even considering giving him a treat at each step of the way. Once he gets used to the idea of rolling over for the treat, then give it to him and reward him with lots of praise. Repeat 10 or more times so that he gets used to it.
How to teach a dog to roll over is the easiest with this method.

- Thanks for this great lens. I taught my dog, Zeus, to play dead and roll over. He resisted b/c he has a dominant personality. But, after training a little bit every day for a year, he finally came around. Take home: you CAN teach your dog to roll over, no matter how stubborn he is!
