Welcome to my Squidoo Tips 11

This Squidoo Tips Lens will show you how to upload an image direct from your computer (harddrive) to your Squidoo lens.

Not everyone wants to host their images online. So let's learn how to upload your picture from your computer. A couple of clicks and you'll be finished!

How to upload your picture

Several modules on Squidoo give you the option to upload a picture.

The most popular two modules where a picture is used is the Introduction, Contents & Discovery Tool module and the Text module.

When you open up a Text module, you will see the picture area below where you type the text in the box.

Click on "Browse" and a "Choose file" pop up box will appear.

Locate the image you want to use on your computer (harddrive).

Once you locate the image on your computer, click on it.

You will now see that the image file name automatically appears in the "file name" box.

Click on "Open"

You will now see that the full file name now appears on Squidoo, ready to upload.

Click on the orange "Upload Photo" button.

You will now see that image as shown above.

Click on the module save button and you are done!

Quick Tips

Be mindful of the size of image you upload.

If it is too large, it may not look right in the module.

You may have to resize your image smaller before you upload it.

I was able to post a photo in the introduction to my lens, but when I open the Lens in the browser as any other user would do, I don't see the photo. It only shows in the edit mode or in my profile as a thumbnail. And I can't figure out how to add a description to that same module.
An other issue you might help me with is that when I open a new text module, the Left side of the page hides off the screen and I can't scroll far enough to the left to see the edge. Is that my monitor or is there something wrong with the site? Does one have to have a wide screen to view these pages? Si I compose my text in Word and then paste it in thes field because I can't see the edge of text, the first 2 or 3 letters are out of view.
    Thanks!

Hi Kathy, my challenge is the 'size - pixel,kb format????
The profile pic I have used in other applications - myspace, ecadamy etc and yet i can't seem to find the right size/format to be acceptable to squidoo. Please help and then I can get on with why I am here.
