Pack Panic? You should probably make a Packing List

Everyone loves travelling but most people don't like what comes first.... packing.
It's boring, troublesome, and not really fun at all.
Plus, if you don't do it properly you can wind up in big trouble on the road.

In this lens, we'll show you how to create your packing list and give you some suggestions for tools and tricks that will make this process quick, painless, and possibly even fun!

Using a Packing List

(not as boring as it sounds)

So you've chosen to take a holiday somewhere.
You've chosen your destination, and booked your flights
and maybe some accommodation also.
Now you just need to work out what you need to take along with you to
ensure that your holiday is fun and stress free.
You will need to make a packing list that covers everything you're going to need for your personal travels.

The very first thing you should think about will be the length and type of trip that you're taking.
The things you bring on a 7 day holiday to Mexico will be much different than what you'd take on a 3 month backpacking tour around Europe.

You need to decide precisely what variety of luggage it is best to bring to place your stuff in.
If your vacation is shorter or you will probably be staying in only one or two different places then getting a suitcase (like the ones with wheels) could be your best choice. If your likely going to be travelling around and exploring then getting a backpack could be more suited to your vacation.

Next, you will need to work out what clothes to bring (and how many of them).
Understand just what weather and temperature is going to be like at your destination and pack accordingly.
Should you be taking a a business trip you will need to remember your suit (or whatever you wear for business). If there's the opportunity for swimming or hot tubbing then be sure you bring a bathing suit. In terms of socks and underwear my general rule of thumb is usually to pack enough for 5-7 travel. Which means that you wouldn t constantly be doing laundry on the road however you also shouldn t be carrying around way too much stuff.

Now you will need to put together a packing list of any electronics or gadgets you may be bringing with you.
A camera to record your trip is a great idea as are spare batteries for it.
I often travel with my laptop and am in a position to fit my camera and some other gadgets in with my laptop bag.
If they're entering into your backpack or suitcase, put them within a plastic ziploc bag first.
This can protect them from any unintentional water damage and you could also utilize ziploc bags later for storing dirty or wet clothing.

Finally, you'll need to understand which toiletries and personal items you want to pack.
Getting items like shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, and toothpaste in travel sized containers is an efficient technique to save space and ensure you can keep your complete toiletries in a bag. Ensure this bag can be closed to avoid spillages in your clothing.

So that's just about it.

Now, there are many different ways to construct your packing list.
You can write it on an section of paper or word document.
There is also a packing list creator called The Travel Packer which
will automatically create a packing list to suit your needs based upon information you input like \"gender\", \"duration of trip\" \"type of trip\" etc.

The Travel Packer is a unique packing list generator that helps you decide what to bring on your next adventure. It's free, easy to use, and fun so check it out!
