Rotary Or Foil Shaver?

Rotary shavers have got three heads of blades that move in a circular motion, opposed to the single strips of blades like the manual shavers. Foil shavers have are more similar design to manual razors - single blades of metal covered by a thin layer of foil which vibrate (like the design to the right).

Compared to a shave with a razor, the electrical shavers win by far when it comes to convenience and time. It is so much easier to just pick up the electrical shaver, switch it on and get the work done, compared to preparing the razor, foam and water and slowly working your way across your face and chin. These types of shavers do generally cut a closer shave than rotary shavers and can be more efficient than rotary depending on the style. They may also give a more even shave, they are less likely to leave missed patches of facial hair

It all depends on personal preference, there isn't a 'best' option. Some men prefer foil and some prefer rotary - they do the same job but in a different way.

If you have had your shaver for a long period of time, then you may need to change the blades in the razor as they may have become blunt - this should cause you to have a closer shave. Also if you blades become dirty then you shave will be less optimal - ensure you thoroughly clean the blades of all grime, dirt and hair.
