How To Use Blogger

Make a blog using Blogger is really easy as you make a lens in squidoo. But lens is not usually lengthy as blog. In a blog you might have even thousands of blog posts. First step of making a blog site in Blogger is selecting a blog title and blog address to your blog. When you selecting a blog address, your blog address should available to use. This means, your address should not be taken by someone else. For this, Blogger provides "Check Availability" option, if this success only you can proceed. Once you create your blog, newly created blog will add your Blogger dashboard for further enhancements. "Manage Blogs" section of your dashboard will list down all the blogs you have created. Under each blog, it will provide New Post, Edit Posts, Comments, Settings, Design, Monetize and Stats links.

New Post

New Post button always use to create a blog post under your respective blog. You should provide title for the new post, content of the post and labels to your post. This labels do great job in ranking your blog post in search results. You can either publish your post or save as draft for further enhancements.

Edit Posts

If you want to edit already published or saved as draft post, you need to go to Edit Post tool. This is again very similar to New Post window and make any changes you need and publish your post.

Comments

Comments section is used to moderate user comments for your blog posts. You can approve comments to show under your blog post, remove unwanted contents, delete useless comments or report spam comments. If you are getting much comments means you post rocking, but beware of the spam comments which would reduce quality of the blog post.

Settings

Settings section is one of the major section in Blogger. This tool provides many tools to manage entire blog site and its settings. Basic, Publishing, Formatting, Commenting, Archiving, Site Feed, Email and Mobile, OpenId and Permissions are sub-sections of the settings section. Each sub-section has its own controls to manage corresponding area of your blog site.

Design

In Design section you can add and arrange page elements of your blog site. If you want to use different templates for your blog you can use Template Designer tool to manage templates. For advance modification of your blog site, you can edit HTML code with Blogger. Once you go to Edit HTML tool it will show entire code behind your blog site. You can do lots of changes here, give unique appearance to your blog. You can change HTML, CSS and JavaScripts as you like using Edit HTML feature. It is highly recommend to take backup of you existing Blogger template before you go for code behind modification. If you something went wrong, you can import you backup template and restore your site.

Monetize

If you are planning to make money from your blog site, this is the section provides all the necessary tools to monetize your blog site. There you can configure Google Adsense, Adsense for Feeds and Amazon Associates settings. Google Adsense will pay a commission for display their Ads on your blog site and Amazon Associates will pay commission on transaction happening through your blog site. Here you need to understand that these companies will handle all complexity behind these processes, simply you need to register with them add them to your blog site.

Stats

In Stats section you can see how your blog site perform among other blog sites. Overview of traffic you get in certain period, traffic on your blog posts, traffic sources and audience of your blog can be easily monitor using Stats tool. You can do different changes to your blog site and monitor the trends to fine tune your changes.
