- I have personally done everything that is discussed in this article and I have had wonderful results. My company The Salvage Pros is ranked #1 for the Texas market and #10 for the US. under demolition auctions. Craigslist helped me to achieve this in a matter of months. Just wanted to show some of you that what Tommy is talking about does truly work. Make sure that when you post ads on craigslist you add a picture, you'll double the views. Good Luck to you all.

- I use Craigslist to index new pages (usually within 24 hours from post). Just a tip for UK posters. Use the London area for posting as it appears to be the most active in the country. Verified on Alexa.com.
Didn't know about h1 tag and word count - thanks for that.
Hope the sale of the site goes well and that the new owner puts in the same effort.

- Hi Everyone,
I just found this web page and think the information is great.
I am a realtor that is going to be in charge of the E-Business of our office. I have tried many html codes but I am still not able to embed a website as the below link.
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/reb/933832105.html
What I am trying to do is embedding our listing information page to the web site. For example, embed http://www.mrmlsmatrix.com/matrix/public/email.aspx?ID=3632230856 into craigslist, so when people click on the craigslist page, they'll just see the web page.
Anyone can help me with that? I don't know why none of the html codes i tried failed. I really need this to work. I can be reached at J.Chi@JonathanChi.com. Thanks a lot!!

- I agree. My prediction regarding Backpage has so far been confirmed: its traffic increased 110% in the last 3 months (http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/losangeles.backpage.com).
The Craigslist folks know that their policies have reduced their traffic, but in their opinion it is worth it, on balance.
In my opinion, sacrificing that much traffic in the name of some fuzzy concept of "cleanliness" is NOT worth it. Craig Newmark is smart, but I reckon he's wrong on this one.
I'm cheering Backpage on!
(And when they make it big, they will probably not fail to come up with a self-destructive idea to ruin it all.)

- Craigslist will fall. Not only because of the flagging problem. But because of this blasphemous requirement of "phone verification" to post ANYTHING on craigslist. I had encountered that phone verification shit a week ago when trying to post some ads. I had tried every single category and all that came up was the phone verification. That finally did it for me as far as bothering with craigslist for anything anymore.
I remember when I had first started posting on craigslist a few months back, my ads were flagged in minutes. It was an all out battle with the bastards who had the automated software. I was determined, as they pissed me off. It was several dozen times that I had to repost my ads before they finally gave up.
I have noticed with the ads I do still have on craigslist, that for the past 2 months, traffic from craigslist has gone way down. I've had better luck using kijiji. I've heard of backpage. I will give them a try. I hope they do not become another craigslist.

However - I just looked at my regular ad today and noticed that there is no "nofollow" in the link - has Craigslist scrapped it?
