How to Use Facebook to grow your business: the top 6 secrets

Facebook is one of the most popular social networking sites with a daily sign up rate of a few millions. You can use the viral power of the tool to grow your business if you can apply several easy tactics which I am about to share with you in my first Squidoo lens
  1. Promote your business in your profile without being pushy:

Give a slight mention of your business in your profile without sounding too much of yourself or sounding over-promotional. You also don't want to be seen as a link spammer

  3. Respond to any friend requests and carefully send your own invitations:

Send A Welcome Message To Your New Friends. There is no automated way to do this that I have found yet so we have to do it by hand which is a little lame but it's effective.

When someone requests to be your friend, send them a little message saying "Thanks for adding me.....blah blah blah." Hope you get the point
Social sites are all about interacting with people but not many people do it.

WARNING: Be careful about using the message feature too much. You will get a warning Pop-up by Facebook if you message too much in a short time.

  5. Use the Profile Html application on Facebook to build your list: That's add the "Profile HTML" application to your profile page.

With it, you can add any html code you like into a small box in your profile page.
I have an opt-in form on mine which I suggest you do too so you get people onto your email list.

If you aren't building an email list, then you might want to add a banner ad there
and link to it with your affiliate link.

I know this sounds very obvious but you shouldn't shoot yourself on the toe by giving in to any temptations to flout the Facebook TOS unless you want to see facebook people snorting fire.

For example, you shouldn't use your business name as the profile name. instead, you can create a fan page for your business
