Boss's Number 1 - Never give your employees work in the morning

This will make them unhappy, because they will have the entire day to complete the task - and where is the challenge in that? Always wait until 5:00 pm to bring it to them. They will relish and rise to the challenge of the deadline. It helps break the monotony of their otherwise dull day. They will be reticent to overtly thank you for your consideration and will tend to use irony to show their appreciation. Most employees spend their days searching for a plausible excuse to avoid having to go out with their partner or friends in the evenings, or worse still, to waste away the evening by just sitting around at home.

Boss's Number 2 - Constantly remind them about hwo urgent tasks really are

If a task is really a 'rush job', you will need to reinforce this to your employees at intervals of not more than 10 minutes, by constantly inquiring about their progress. They will appreciate your consideration and will enjoy being liberated from the burden of having to remember that you had already told them 50 times that it was a rush job.
