How Triberr Changes The Competitive Landscape
Ranked #4,503 in Internet, #243,140 overall
Triberr: The Reach Multiplier & Great Equalizer
What excites me most about Triberr is the vision and talent behind it. Dino Dogan and Dan Cristo are nothing short of brilliant (no, I am not being paid to say this). Dino's vision behind Triberr is simple: bring more traffic to the lesser-known blogs out there.
Triberr represents a vital paradigm shift, whereas it's no longer the top 1-5% of businesses and sites controlling 70-80% of the influence and wealth.
Triberr is leading the way as one of the few social media platforms that makes levels the competitive landscape. No more getting buried in all the junk or having your voice muted by all the marketing noise. Triberr makes networking easy to do by employing a tribe-inspired community model. Unified under a tribe chief and common vision, this take on tribes shows that collaboration works, even when tribespeople share similar offerings and experience.
Join us as we meet some of the people behind Triberr and the compelling concepts that make this a meaningful community...

D&D: The NEW Dynamic Duo
Dino Dogan & Dan Cristo make Triberr the place to be!
With so many look-alike solutions and sites out there, very few really hold any appeal. Fortunately, the combination of Dino and Dan makes Triberr a community worth participating in. These guys are sharp and their skills compliment each other very well. More importantly, they're approachable and have a vision we should all get excited about!
Simply put, Dino and Dan kick ass.
Dino Dogan
Part consultant, part insultant, ALL badassery.
Then I started to hear some people drop Dino's name online via different mediums. I was also hearing about a brand-new site called Triberr. Eventually, I connected the dots and realized that this awesome dude was behind the awesome service that was causing quite a stir.
Dino inspires me because he is truly authentic. He puts himself out there, flaws and all, making no excuses for it. I can really relate to Dino because he's a Stargate fan, decent MMA guy, and a cool geek all around. In fact, we both have our hands in a little bit of everything.
Needless to say, after getting to know him better "off-site", I developed a man crush. Dino has a great vision and he's teamed up with all the right people while building one of the most amazing communities I've ever been a part of...
Most of all, the guy earns my respect because he pulls no punches. Dino will give you a compliment just as quickly as he'll tell you what you're doing wrong. He keeps it real all the time.. And he's very tactful about it, though he doesn't sugar-coat stuff.
Dino, you are truly a man's man (and my better half is still jealous of you.. she thinks we should hook up LMAO)!
Dan Cristo
SEO person, rapid developer, and all-around cool geek.
While Dino is the cool, rebellious geek that we all know and love, Dan's more the type of geek us nerdy gamer types appreciate. I've seen first-hand how Dan can take an idea and materialize it in software form practically overnight. He's an amazing developer!
But did you know he is an ex-WoW player?
That ALONE speaks volumes about Dan. Quitting WoW, if you're a real gamer, is darn near impossible. In fact, MMORPGs in general tend to be stickier than even the most popular social games out there. That's because they are social games at heart.
Anywho...
Dan said it best when he stated, "The only way to beat WoW is to quit playing." (or something to that effect)
How true it is! While Dino is not a hardcore gamer, Dan's gaming and development prowess combine REALLY well with Dino's appreciation for game mechanics and techie background. With Dino's vision and Dan's execution, there's no stopping Triberr.
Now, I must say, I've been coding since the old BASIC and Pascal days.. But even I would love to have my very own Dan Cristo to help bring some of my pet projects to life (sooner than later, that is). Talk about RDE! ;o)

Triberr origins and Dino-Dan mancrushing.
Triberr has been born to address these issues. In just a few months, Triberr has done some BIG things so we're excited to see what is to come!

The Etiquette of Triberr
What goes around comes around.
Everyone has something to sell.
D&D have teamed up with key community leaders to develop Karma Points and other systems to encourage cross-promotion, guest blogging, peer support, and more. Every system can be gamed, sure, but these guys have some good foresight.
There is no etiquette to Triberr.. but good behaviors will be rewarded.
Triberr On Twitter Massive Influence
Triberr is chosen as one of the best-of-breed apps for Twitter!
We'll let Rob explain the details - his energy alone should make you excited about what he's doing! Also, try chatting with @RobPene on Twitter. He's a really friendly dude.
Geeks Of All Kinds WELCOME!
Whether you're a comic book, gamer, sci-fi, or other type of geek, Triberr has a tribe for YOU!
One of the things that makes me particularly excited about Triberr is that there are some very unique people in the community. I've come across some really cool folks I would not have met otherwise. These folks are passionate about what they do and believe in, which is the essence of geekdom.
Triberr truly is changing the way we look at blogging and business alike... Our heroes are here!
If you're a super hero planning to join The Triberr League, even better. See the next section for some of the super powers we currently have accounted for!
Birds of a Feather
We run a tight ship, y0.
I'd say it's a pretty darn good setup!
It gets better, though: in a blogosphere filled with many look-alikes, it really feels like everyone stands out with their approach to blogging and business alike. We've had great fun thus far and the group has seen some really big growth. I'm impressed by the sorts of professionals we're attracting but, even more importantly, it's great finding some little-known creatives that really deserve more time in the limelight.
While our chief isn't as active in the group as the rest of us, she makes sure we're all taken care of. We have nice sleeping quarters, good rations, and fun times. Really, I can't complain - we have a fantastic (and good-looking) bunch! Jealous yet? ;o)
Check out the official Birds Of A Feather Weekly eZine, courtesy of chief Keri Jaehnig! Word has it we have other wonderful Squidoo and Paper.li portals worth checking out, too!
Keri Jaehnig of Idea Girl Media, Inc.
BOAF Chief
She spends quite a bit of time networking with new people and maintaining contact here and there. She's good at what she does: connecting people together. I'd also like the record to reflect that she is quite photogenic, so we understand why she has a new headshot each month.
(Just teasing, chief - making sure you're paying attention here!)
Like any true leader, she helps groom the rest of us to become little mini-chiefs so there's never a dull moment during village meetings and rain dances. She keeps us all well-informed and did I mention well-fed?
SIDEBAR: Be sure to chcek out Keri's "Birds of a Feather Weekly" on Paper.li - ALWAYS a great read (I may have mentioned this *giggle*)! I also learned, the hard way, that the #BOAF hash tag leads to some things that are not appropriate for polite company.. Just saying.
Keri Jaehnig is a coffee aficionado and that just makes her even more "groovy" in my book!
Featured Bird Of A Feather: Laurinda Shaver
Inspiring stuffy suits to "keep it real"!
Laurinda is part of my super-secret mastermind group. We consider ourselves work-out buddies, keeping each other in check, especially when we want to slack. It works well.
Ms. Shaver inspires me because she reminds me of how much the corporate world turns us into zombies. We're told to hide our flaws, conform, and play pretend. What fun is that when you can't at least wear a cape?
Authenticity.
...Laurinda Shaver is the real deal. She's not alone on the authenticity movement but I can't think of many people who just let go and let it all out like she does. Make no mistake: she is a professional every step of the way.. But I love that she has not given up on the innocent and energy many of us leave behind in our youth.
Laurinda is so good at honest communication that she can take a 30-minute conversation and compress it into a 30-second video. She's fantastic at getting to the real meat of a message. No dress-up, no sugar-coating.. Take it or leave it. Hey, Dino, you have some competition here, though Laurinda is not much of a salty dog! ;o)

Yogizilla's Budding Tribes
And now for my own shameless plugs... Join me tribes on Triberr, DAGNABBIT!
I have a few tribes that I've been meaning to promote more. While each tribe has a general theme, the main thing I am looking for is folks that...
- Like helping others.
- Show that they care.
- Can be honest yet tactful.
- Have a great sense of humor!
My tribes are mostly casual, hence why I went with the provided photo. I can "dress to impress" but I still like to be as approachable, friendly, and authentic as possible. Love me or not, here I am!
Anywho, here are my tribes.. Come check them out and apply if you haven't joined Triberr yet (or are looking to make a switch.. it happens):
* The Sassy Shareakins - Social Networking - Connecting, sharing, cross-promotion, and engaging.. Those are all actions that I hope will continue to describe our humble little tribe. We're looking for folks that favor "high touch" over "mass reach"; that is, you're not planning to use Triberr as a mere Twitter feed. If meeting passionate, perhaps like-minded people excites you, we have a home for you right here! If you have OCD or a really energetic, even better - that sort of energy and attention to detail makes for some great opportunities to spark conversations, motivate each other, and so much more!
* The Knights of Good - Video Game Geeks - If games of any kind interest you, this may be the tribe for you. We believe that games are all around us and, with that perspective, you can enjoy life much more. We're also hoping the cast of "The Guild" may be tempted to join us.. Wishful thinking, I know! Hey, they reply on Twitter sometimes. =oP
* Survival of Ancient Exile - Creative - Let's leave the archaic, boring rules of life and business behind. I'm still toying with the name of this tribe but the vision is there. Just look at the Dessert First Blog and The Practical Life to see the sort of stuff I'm trying to focus on this particular feed. I hope that, by uniting by other rule-breakers and "crazies", we can collaborate together and do some wonderful things! It's all about taking a real stand so our voices are heard, rather than settling for conformity and cookie-cutter solutions.

Triberr Member Super Powers
Even Batman is impressed with our hidden powers!
* Keri Jaehnig - BOAF's fearless leader can turn a heaping pile of poo (Facebook) and make it into something useful (a fan page). That's saying a lot because, let's face it, the Facebook folks are so far up their own patoots that they're not keeping up with the rest of the world. Keri's super power, in a nutshell, is building awesome stuff out of otherwise junk materials, which is handy when Dino and Dan hog up all the Legos.
* Laurinda Shaver - I mentioned this before but let me repeat: this gal will take 30 minutes of BS and turn it into an honest, hype-free, un-spun story worth listening to.
* Dave Gallant - His hands are uncrushable. Yes, this is an inside joke. Dave's got a great sense of humor so I hope I made him spit some milk through his nose.
* Oli Gardner - If you have HTS (Hyper Tigger Syndrome), Oli can use his psionic blades to cut the crap out of your content and unbounce that crap. Just, please, keep your tail clear of his corner... Thanks.
* Christian Hollingsworth - It's impossible to be angry around Christian. If you try to get belligerent, his soft-spoken ways will have you cradling yourself in the fetal position while begging for a Ring Pop. We put this super power to work quite a bit in our BOAF super team!
* Danny Brown - No mention of the Triberr super heroes is complete without mentioning Danny. Of course, we all know about Danny's expertise when it comes to sheep but I bet you don't know he's an expert at FTL (Faster Than Light) knitting. BTW, Danny, I am really enjoying the Mr. T body pillow - thanks, man!
* Janet Callaway - When it comes to sniffing down a trail, Janet is your gal. She can find any blogger anywhere, any time. Word has it she has something comparable to Professor Charles Xavier's Cerebro apparatus. With her handy contraption, she'll find you and leave a comment.. They're always nice comments but we reckon you would not like her when she gets angry.... O_O
* Jen Onley - Jen is a word mage. She can use "ginger" in ways that do not offend people without discussing spices, baking, or brown consumables (I was going to say edible brown men but someone might read into that). 'Nuff said.
* Yomar Lopez - My super hero power is the ability to turn the most minuscule idea into something epic.. And sometimes bore people to sleep. I am particularly effective at putting those with short attention spans to sleep. Don't make me go off on a tangent! =oP
I really enjoy the company of these wonderful folks and I hope everyone realizes this is all in good fun (some people take things too personally). You guys have been great!
...Thank you, thank you - I'm here all week! ;o)
Random Boning Opportunity?
Boning? Karma? What does it all mean?
Bones let you do different things like in-breeding (recruiting from other tribes), recycling items on your streams, and expand your tribes. Sure, this helps D&D pay the bills (and keep their utility belts well-stocked) but, more importantly, it maintains a delicate balance...
Random boning opportunities make this system even sexier. Now, the most active Triberr members get random bones just for getting involved. You can be checking your tribal message boards or simply logging in and BOOM - random boning granted! YAY!!
Let's make sure we're clear that Bones and Karma are quite different. Bones help you get extra "uNF" out of Triberr. They also keep you from being excessive, so you're not spamming your tribes. This is good.
Karma, on other hand, is actually quite different. The name tells you that it's about a mutual exchange: give a little to get a little. It's a system for keeping people engaged and honest. Rather than allowing people to get stuck in self-promotion mode, karma points makes it a requirement to really get involved with your tribe so that Triberr becomes much more than a mere Twitter feed.
In any case, watch the video. Dino gets into more details about the random boning to be expected on Triberr. We'll revisit this stuff at some point...

- I notice a lot of buzz on Twitter revolving around the effectiveness of Triberr and the potential for it to be invasive. I'd like to set those concerns at ease. If you have questions, leave them here in the guestbook and/or mention me on Twitter. I'd like to provide the perspective of an end-user that wasn't sold on the idea at first (but now I'm a huge fan). I'll be adding more content here to discuss features, best practices, and proper expectations thereof. Your feedback will help shape this lens so keep it coming, folks!
