How Whitney Houston Died?

On February 10th, 2012, we lost the finest singer of all time. Whitney Houston was pronounced dead after unsuccessful attempts to revive her at her hotel room in Los Angeles. Apparently, police arrived after an emergency call was made at 3.43pm. Within minutes after a call was made by Clive Davis, one of Whitney's entourage, paramedics arrived.

They attempted CPR but all attempts made were unsuccessful. Whitney Houston, aged 48, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3.55pm on the 4th floor of her room but just how Whitney Houston died is still being determined.

Whitney Houston was the winner of 6 Grammy Awards, 2 Emmy Awards, 30 Billboard music awards starred in 3 films and 170 million records worldwide. During her record breaking career she has inspired a generation of stars from Maria Carey to Christina Aguilerra.

Amid the speculation, what is known is that her career was tarnished by a turbulent marriage to Bobby Brown (1992 - 2007) and her addiction to cocaine and marijuana.

Bobby Brown, her former husband, was performing just a few miles away when he learned of her death and was reported to have crying fits. As one of his songs finished he shouted out to the crowd, "I love you Whitney."

According to Beverly Hills police detectives, there were no obvious signs of foul play but a full investigation ensued. Police do know that she was seen leaving a night club on the day of her death and she was looking worse for wear. She was reported to have been partying heavily and drinking and chatting loudly with friends just hours before her death. Whitney Houston once confessed during an interview, "The biggest devil is me. I'm either my best friend or my worst enemy."

Whitney Houston was due to attend the Grammy Awards a day later but now tributes will be made during the largest music event to the year to the multi award winning star. Clive Davis was her mentor and is hosting the Grammy Awards this year. These shockwaves will cast a huge dark shadow over the Grammy Awards this year and it seems ironic that she died the day before the award ceremony that she herself has claimed awards for.

Today is a sad day for millions of fans and he entire music industry is reeling as they learn of the sad news. Whitney Houston was famously known for her leading role in the movie, The Bodygaurd where she played the role of a famous singer who received death threats from a stalker.

In the film, a former secret service agent (Kevin Costner) is hired to protect and investigate the case and prevent the singer from coming to harm. The feature song of that film, I Will Always Love You, sang and performed by Whitney Houston is also probably her most famous and well-remembered piece of work. 17 million copies of this sound track were sold in the US alone.

As it stands, there are no signs of any criminal intent relating to Whitney Houston's death but rumour control seems to be suggesting that she may have drowned in her bath and that she could have been high on alcohol and drugs. As the investigation continues, it is thought that only an autopsy will reveal the true cause of death of the singer.

This sad news is shocking to say the least but despite her turbulent personal life, she will be remembered for her spectacular decade or stardom. Whitney Houston: 1963 - 2012 RIP.
