How to Become a US Citizen

There is so much misinformation floating around about how to become a US citizen that it's enough to make one sick. So this Lens is going to give you the straight facts directly from the mouth of the US government itself. Yes, some of this stuff is open to interpretation, but most of it is pretty straight forward. Hopefully, this Lens will give you a solid idea of what is required.

Become a US Citizen

For starters, you must be living in the United States currently and living there for some period of time. How much time? Unfortunately, that's one of the gray areas the nobody can give a definitive answer to. But trust me, it better be for at least a year or more.

You must also have residence in a USCIS district when filing. USCIS stands for United States Citizenship and Immigration. In other words, if you are living in an area of the US that doesn't have one of these districts, you can't file for citizenship.

You must be able to read, write and speak English. This is straight forward and there is no room for compromise here. If you can't read, write and speak English, you have to learn. As to the proficiency, that's one of the gray areas.

You must also have a knowledge and understanding of US history and government. This is probably one of the most difficult parts of the exam for becoming a citizen. You'd be surprised how many people born in this country who don't know anything about our government.

The next requirement is that you are of good moral character. Yes, they can refuse your citizenship if they believe you are immoral.

Finally, you have to believe in the principles of the US Constitution and have a favorable disposition towards the United States. And trust me on this, they will investigate you, your family and everybody you know in order to determine whether or not you're loyal to this country.

In my signature, is a review of a great resource that will absolutely prepare you for becoming a US citizen. I strongly advise you take a look at it.

Review Of Become A US Citizen

I used to think, "Why would anybody need a book on how to become a US citizen" until I heard all the horror stories of people who applied for citizenship and got rejected. I never realized how hard the process really was until I did some research. And with all the terrorism in the world, today, it's even harder. That's why this book is a God send.

See, the truth is, it IS harder than ever to become a US citizen. The government, right or wrong, is looking for every excuse they can to turn you down. That's just the way it is. Therefore, we need to battle against this by getting educated. It's that simple.

What I love best about this book is that you get free updates for life. See, the immigration and naturalization laws change over time. Look what 911 did to our laws. So you don't have to worry about buying something today that will be obsolete tomorrow. If there are any changes, you get them at no cost. That alone makes getting this a no brainer.

In this package, you also get a quick civics course. And YES, it WILL prepare you for the examination. It is everything that is essentially on the exam. All you have to do is read it and understand it.

The great thing about the main guide is that it's only 60 pages. They didn't cram it with a lot of stuff that you won't need. They cover only what is absolutely necessary to get your application approved and pass your exam. It's essentially a lifetime of US education whittled down to this. Native born Americans should have it this easy.

At the very least, please go to the site and see what they're offering. I promise you that it will save you countless hours of research and who knows how many mistakes in the process.
