Goal Setting for Internet Network Marketing 

The first step to building your MLM Empire is to set goals for yourself. It all starts with how much money you want to make.

In internet network marketing there are three ways you make money. They are as follows:

1. You make money when you sign up a new customer for your MLM business and/or when someone in your organization signs up a new customer.

2. You make money when you promote an affiliate product that is related to what your prospects are interested in and the prospect purchases that product as a result of clicking on your affiliate link.

3. You make money when you promote a product that you have created that is related to what your prospects are interested in and the prospect purchases from you.

The reason this is important is because this is going to dictate the action steps that you will need to take to meet this goal.

There is a huge difference in what you need to do to make $500 a month than what you need to do to make $5,000 a month or even $50,000 a month.

What Are Your MLM Marketing Numbers? 

Once you identify how much money you want to make, the next step is to figure out what type of numbers you need to be producing to meet those goals.

With each of the three ways to make money in the
internet network marketing business model, a sale is made to generate income.


Suppose you are in a network marketing company with a product that cost $100. You make $20 anytime you make a sale. You make $5 on every sale made by distributors on your 1st and 2nd level and you make $10 a sale on every sale made by distributors on your 3rd level.

Let's also assume you are promoting a funded proposal that has three products. One pays $20, one pays $50 and the third pays $100. Let's assume you are doing all free advertising so you don't have to use your funded proposal to re-invest back into your marketing.

If your goal is to make $500 a month, these numbers are very important to know if you are going to hit your goal. With these numbers you now have several options that you can take to make $500 a month.

Income Strategies to Produce Your Goal 

Let's suppose your network marketing company requires every new distributor to purchase $500 worth of product. You could meet your goal by recruiting 5 distributors personally. If your team follows suit, you can also reach your goal if you get 20 recruits from distributors on your 1st and 2nd levels or 10 recruits from your 3rd level.

You could also reach your goal by making 5 sales of your $100 funded proposal, 10 sales of your $50 funded proposal or 25 sales of your $20 funded proposal.

Or you could reach your goal through a combination of product sales from your business opportunity and sales made from your funded proposal.

You need to take a look at your network marketing business model, calculate your commissions and figure out what you need to do to produce the income that you would like to make.

Once you do this, you are ready to begin building your empire.

In part 2 of this article, you will learn how to carve your niche on the real estate of the internet to automatically recruit for you for your MLM business. You will also learn how the fortune is in the follow-up and how to build an effective follow-up system for your prospects so you can maximize your income.

How to Build A MLM Empire Using Internet Network Marketing Part 2 

In part 1 of this article you learned about the importance of goal setting and knowing your numbers. These steps are vital if you want to build your MLM empire based on internet marketing strategies and techniques.

In part 2 of this article, you will learn about establishing an internet presence to recruit for you as well as how to follow up with your prospects. Timing is everything and even if you do everything right, a prospect still might not get started right away because of timing.

Establishing Your Internet Network Marketing Real Estate 

Success in internet marketing is very similar to success in real estate. In real estate your goal is to control the most profitable land that you can. In internet network marketing, the "land" is actually web sites.

A great problem to have in your MLM business is when you have so many leads coming in you simply don't have the time to contact them all. At this point you can become what's known in the industry as a "prospecting snob."

What this means is that you can be picky and selective with who you decide to work with and who you won't work with. The key to making this happen for you is to control the best possible web sites you can for your internet network marketing business.

When establishing a web presence online, there are two ways you can increase your control on the real estate available on the internet. The first way is to leverage the resources of established web sites. The second way is to create your own web sites.

MLM Opportunities to Leverage Assets vs. Creating Assets 

I recommend that you do both leverage web sites and create your own web sites.

However, if you are just getting started it might be easier to start off by leveraging other web sites.

Leveraging web sites is any prospecting strategy that involves you taking visitors from one web site and leading them to your web site.

For example, suppose you create a video and post it to YouTube. In the description of the video you put a link to your web site. In this scenario, you are leveraging the asset of YouTube, which is owned by Google.

The advantage to leveraging the assets of others is that you can extract value out of their efforts.

For example, YouTube has already put in place mechanisms to attract visitors to its web site.

By creating a video and putting a link to your web site in the description, you can leverage its efforts to generate leads and customers for your network marketing business.

The disadvantage to leveraging the assets of others is that you have little to no control over the asset. For example, you might try to leverage a blog to drive traffic to your web site. However, if the owner of the blog decides to delete your post, your efforts are completely wasted and you have no control over it.

An alternative option is to create your own web site. The advantage to this is you now have full control over the content and the asset. You can display it however you want in whatever format you want.

The other advantage to creating your own web site is you are literally building your own asset with value. This is a key concept with attraction marketing principles. As you create and continue to add more content to your web site, this increases the amount of traffic and value that your web site offers.

Keep in mind that when you create your own web site, you are now completely responsible for building up the traffic and value yourself. This obviously takes more work than if you leveraged a web site where the value is already created.
