How to make a Webkinz Wheel of WoW for your Birthday Party

So you need a Wheel of WoW at your party and do not have the slightest idea where to start?
Yes you can go crazy and build an elaborate wheel with all the nails, pointer and stand - but no need. Really what do you do with it when you are done?

Being The Party Animal and being known for my thriftiness - I came up with a great idea that is not only inexpensive to do, but also very easy for the creatively challenged.

What you will need

The main part to my wheel is a Lazy Susan - Hey you may even have one in your cabinet (if not look below to find some for sale or ask your friends or neighbors to borrow one - why spend the money if you do not have to)SEE BELOW - They are Cheap and you can even just get the bearings

The Lazy Susan has the whole mechanism for spinning right there - no Handy Husband needed!!!

Ok now you have your spinner - so now you will have to do some creative work, but not too much.

Get a nice thick piece of poster board and cut a circle larger then the Lazy Susan - you can find a big circle like a garbage can cover etc.. to trace.

Then with a pencil draw a line across the middle of the circle and then another line to form a +. The real Wheel of WoW on Webkinz has 10 slices, but to save yourself I would slice it into 8 like a pizza. So now using a ruler or your eye make the lines to form the slices.

Ok so now you have a big circle with 8 even slices drawn. Now the next step - get out your crayons and color each triangle with bright colors of the rainbow - each with a different color. Or if you like cut up colored paper in bright colors to fit in each pie slot and tape or glue them on.

Wow you have a pretty pizza - now what? Well you need to add the WoW in the middle so get another piece of poster board and make a smaller circle - maybe trace a small plate. Then in the circle Write, draw, use stencils and add Wheel of WoW - or just write WoW or even make your own name.

Good - now you are ready to think of the prizes you will offer. Just remember when you do this that you need to have enough prizes if a child lands on the spot more than once - OR you can have a black slice made up in advance and when someone lands on it you cover it as it is no longer available. So think this part out good.
Add pictures of the items by printing them out or drawing them on the colored slots.

Excellent the wheel is done - now tape it good from the back onto the Lazy Susan.

Now lets create the pointer that will point to the item. Take your poster board scrap and make a triangle that is smaller than the width of one of the slots and color it different than any of the colors you have added on there so it stands out.

Now to attach the pointer. At the top of the wheel tape something on the bottom/base of the Lazy Susan like a plastic knife/dowel (get thrifty here) so it sticks out father than the wheel, but is not attached and stays put when the wheel is spun. Add some sort of item on the top to add height - maybe like a small gift box (work with me - invision this - use stuff you have in the house) You want it to be higher than the wheel so when you attach the pointer it stays there while the wheel spins.

So there you have it - a simple inexpensive way to have your wheel. This wheel will work flat on the table or if you want it standing then just think of a way to attach it to a stand to have it upright. Just look around your house - in your garage and I am sure you already have something.
