How Can I Fix My Cell Phone It Got Wet? 

It's probably too late now since you didn't let it dry out long enough.

You SHOULD immediately remove the battery, fully immerse the phone in distilled water (no contaminants or mineral deposits which are what really wrecks the phone and it rinses them off), then let it dry over a forced air vent (a fairly cool one) or in front of a fan for a week or two (or take it apart and give it a couple days).

Fix My Wet Cellphone? 

Here's what you can do now (be sure to follow standard electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions! Basically, wear a grounding wrist strap that's connected to a good ground, avoid staticy clothes, avoid carpet, and minimize handling to the lowest level possible):

Take it apart

Carefully clean any corrosion with contact cleaner. If you've basically given up, as a last resort some have had luck thoroughly rinsing components with distilled water.

Let the parts dry over a gentle flow of air for a couple days

Reassemble it

Pray

Turn it on

Is it worth a try? Yes. You can't kill a dead phone and it's fun. Will it work? Unlikely but it might if it's something simple (like a corrosion-caused short). The reality is that at this point it's probably electrically fried.

Here is a story about something that seems to be very common these days: a wet cell phone. For some reason, it's very common for people to jump into a body of water with their cell phone in their pocket. I've seen it first hand in my back yard. Well here is a story about how 1 person I know got his cell phone dried out and working properly again.

He ran into the Pacific Ocean with his cell phone in his pocket. That was the bad news. The good news was that it was turned off. Even better news was that he was with an engineer that works for Motorola and an engineer that works for Nokia. Both of them said not to worry that they could get it working again. Here were the steps that they took:

1. Remove the battery immediately. Do not try to turn the phone on to see if it works when it is wet.

2. Since the water was salt water, the corrosive salt had to be removed from the phone. To do this they soaked the phone in the pool at home and shook it all around under the water. They mentioned that the chlorine wasn't the best for the phone either. Maybe a bath tub would be better?

3. Next they ran a garden hose over the phone to rinse the chlorine out of it. At this point water could be seen in the LCD screen.

4. After all the water was run over the phone, they lightly blew the phone out with air.

5. Lastly, they cooked the phone in the oven. 125*F for 5 hours.

After the phone was removed from the oven, the battery was reinstalled. The phone turned on and everything worked properly. Only one small part of the LCD screen was missing a few pixels.

Try this only at your own risk. This may not work for all phones or under all circumstances. But as a last ditch effort it may be worth a try.
