    I'd like to add that as of May 21, 2001 Buzzle.com has banned all external links with article submissions, so now basically useless in terms of SEO efforts.

    A search engine submitter has no value. There are only 3 or 4 search engines that will send you any traffic at all (Google, Yahoo, Bing, maybe Ask). Just create a few good links to your site and these search engines automatically find you.

    Thanks for bringing this up.

    According to Google, it doesn't discount all appearances of certain content, so all of the backlinks will exist and be counted, but they will determine whether your printing of the article deserves the highest ranking.

    Lets say you post an article on your website, then it gets syndicated and placed on 10 other websites that are not on your domain. Google might decide that the version on blahblah.com is authoritative and rank that site #1 for the title of the article. Since you have links in place, that's not a problem, because that road leads to you anyway, but if that article defines your site and you want people coming to you just for that, then you can contact Google and file a DMCA request. You'll probably lose your backlinks/links though so decide on your priorities.

    Check out Google's Blog regarding duplicate content.

    All this is pretty nice, but I heard that if you submit the same article to many article submission sites you won't get credit for those backlinks in Google because of the "duplicate content issue"... is that so?... Thanks!
