Romantic Essentials List

To attain this "coveted status," it helps to be prepared by always having the romantic essentials at hand. This way, the next time the mood strikes, you can actually act on it! Below is a list of my all-time essential romantic items. Enjoy mi amores!
Candles, candles, candles. In a variety of shapes, colors and sizes. Don't forget tea lights for picnics and your car!
Lighter or matches to light candles.
Sexy lingerie for the BOTH of you!
Romantic and comfy lingerie for more intimate moments.
A variety of massage oils to experiment with.
At least five romantic movies, or a list of romantic movies you'd both be willing to rent and watch.
4 different types of romantic mood CDs.
A "home-made" guide to romantic destinations in your city. To do this first spend about a month or two researching your city. Visit every place you can imagine. While doing this, keep a journal of the different aspects of each place. For ex. times open, cost of visit, best season to visit, private or public outing, etc. Then import your data onto your computer (into Word or Access) for future reference!
Baby-sitter list of at least five people!
Champagne and champagne glasses.
Picnic basket set.
Warm blanket to cuddle with on picnics or other outings.
List of all the restaurants in your area that deliver, their menus and hours of delivery.
Camera to capture your romantic memories and a photo album to store them in.

date night ideas....Cook her dinner!
The first goal in planning a romantic dinner is to create the perfect mood. You should decide this now. Choices can vary from sensual to carefree. I'll address different foods & items you can have to set different moods in a bit.Once you've decided what mood you want. The next thing you should do is decide where the ideal place that depicts this mood is. If you want an endless romantic night try and find a place that looks over a large body of water on the night of a full moon. Personally, my favorite way to achieve this is to rent a hotel room on the beach and have room service delivered and set up on the balcony or patio of the room overlooking the ocean.
If passion is your plan, try setting up pillows all around on your living room floor with a bed tray somewhere near filled with finger foods to feed each other.
Take some time and research different settings and places around your city to find the ultimate spot. The time spent will most definitely be worth it.
Now that you have the mood and place decided, it's time to plan the menu. Plan your meal around the mood you are trying to create. Here are a few complete dinner ideas.
Hopelessly Romantic (great for couples just starting to date)
Meal of pasta, preferably the classic spaghetti marinara.
Garlic bread.
Spumoni or other Italian dessert.
Bottle of vintage wine.
White and red checked tablecloth.
Soft Italian music playing in the background.
Passion
Cook or order Indian food. Be sensitive to your partner's tolerance to spicy foods.
Follow above suggestions.
Buy a Kama Sutra book and practice a few methods on each other.

Find a place near the ocean or water.
Prepare shrimp and/or a steak dinner.
Bottle of your favorite wine, chilled.

Have your date either right at sunset or on a full moon.
After you've chosen a menu, it's time to stock up on your mood setters. An absolute must is candles, no exceptions with this one. Also, include soft music, chilled wine or champagne and flowers. Anything that can add to the atmosphere of the mood you're trying to create%u2026 do or get!
For added finishing touches try a few of these ideas.
Hand feed each other while eating.
Cook and/or prepare the meal together.
Get dressed up even if you're just staying home.
Try to include their favorite foods as much as possible.
Make Every Meal Romantic
Somehow, food and romance seem to go hand in hand. I haven't quite figured it out myself yet, but there is no denying the romantic impulses one receives over a deliciously, quiet romantic dinner for two. For some people not as romantically or culinary inclined as myself, doing something like this day to day may seem to be quite the formidable task. With a little practice, and a few great tips outlined below, you'll find it much easier than you think! You may not understand why, but after following these tips for even a few days, you will start to see a nice and very welcome romantic lifestyle change! Good luck and bon appétit!Turn off all outside disturbances such as the TV, phone, etc. The only sounds you should hear are that of soft, romantic music playing in the background.
Provide candlelight and/or dim lighting.
If you have children, on occasion, have them eat at an earlier time. Then set them up with a video in another room or with a baby-sitter for an hour or so. Alternatively, you can arrange for them to eat at a friend's house.
Listen to your partner. Really hear what they have to say and comment on it.
Make/serve something with well-known aphrodisiac qualities.
Keep your presentation simple yet elegant. Prepare your table setting like you see in restaurants. Use fabric napkins, wineglasses, a tablecloth, etc.
If you're kitchen is in viewing area from the dining area, make sure you've cleaned up before eating. Cleaning as you're cooking is very effective, plus it cuts down on scrubbing afterward!
Don't bring up negative topics. This is a time to share how your day went and really talk to each other. Seriously, how often to you get to sit down with your partner for any length of time? Don't spoil it by bringing up small petty issues!
Always serve some sort of dessert. Even if it's just a cup of fruit drizzled with a dessert sauce or yogurt. Indulgences, even healthy ones, are a splendid romantic treat.
If possible, serve at least a 3 to 4 course meal. (Appetizer, salad or soup, main course and dessert.)

Clean Environment
Nothing ruins the mood for romance like a dirty room. Make sure your romantic encounter lives up to its full potential by including a thorough cleaning.
Rose Petals
One of the most common symbols for romance, the rose is not only a beautiful addition to your bath water and/or bath area it is delightfully fragrant as well.
Bubble Bath
Bubble bath comes in so many varieties it can be hard to choose the right one. If you know your partner has a special favorite, use that one. If not, try something a little creative like bubble bath in a champagne bottle.
Mood Music
Initiate a romantic environment with a little calm and relaxing mood music. Many stores offer nature or mood themed music. Pick out a CD that will help you create the exact mood you desire.
Candlelight

The degree of togetherness and closeness you share with your partner during this time is nearly unmatched by any other romantic moment. A romantic bath can ease away a stressful day, make a wonderful "I'm sorry" or an incredibly sensual "I love you." Making the most of this romantic ritual can light just about anyone's romantic fire. So, the next time you want to do something special for your partner, or are feeling a bit disconnected with each other, indulge in a romantic bath for two!
Gathering essential ingredients...
The two "can't do without" items you will need are, candles and some type of bubble bath. Scented candles are the best option. Try to find aphrodisiac type scents like jasmine, rose and lavender. When choosing your bubble bath, keep in mind the scents you've chosen for the candles and what type of effect you want to create. Do you want it to be a more refreshing interlude? If so, choose spa type bath treatments in rain or similar type scents. If a sensual bath is what you're after, choose stronger more robust scents similar to sandalwood, or try lavender or a rose scented bubble bath. For a fun romantic bath, use fruity scents like watermelon, peach or berry.
The next items are not "essential" but will help provide the ultimate bathing experience.
Start your bath off with a toast for two. Keep your wine or champagne chilled in a bucket nearby.
Help set the mood with romantic music.
Use a bath sponge or mit to wash each other.

Breakfast in bed is an often overlooked romantic luxury. The idea of your partner getting up before you just to surprise you with a wonderful morning treat is simply decadent. Unfortunately, not everyone is most creative in the kitchen%u2026 or in the morning! Plan A Day Trip
If you haven't had the time for a vacation lately, take the next best thing... a day trip! Escaping to a nearby city, or for an excursion is the perfect way to spend one-on-one time with your partner. To start planning you'll need to do the following:Decide where you want to go.
Ideas include:
- A nearby city within 100 miles distance.
- A balloon ride.
- A day cruise.
- A train adventure.
- A lake or beach.
- A fair or event taking place nearby.
Decide what day you want to go.
Once the day is decided, see if there are any special events or fairs taking place anywhere within 100 miles. You might find something of interest.
Determine how long your trip will be. Will it be a half-day, full day or even extended?
The length of your day trip will help you determine what type of food plans, transportation and entertainment plans you'll need to make.
Figure out what additional items you'll need to bring. Wherever you go you should always bring: a map, extra non-perishable food, sunscreen, blankets, additional clothes and a camera for catching those memorable moments! If you decide to have a picnic lunch or dinner, you'll need to bring picnic items. If the place you're going to will be cold, bring a blanket and warm clothing. If you're going to the beach, bring towels and additional clothing.
