The importance of protein and carbs

Having a balanced diet is one of the most important things you can do. If you eat more calories than you burn off, your body will store the remaining ones as fat. On the other hand, if you eat too little calories, your body will take the energy it needs from not only your fat, but your muscles as well. Determining the right amount of carbs and protein to eat will speed up your muscle gains and melt the fat from your body.

Tip #2 - Build Muscle and Burn Fat with Intense Weight Lifting 

Low Reps and High Weight

Many people believe that the best way to get ripped and cut muscles is to do a high number of reps with low weight. While this does work, it is much better to do a low number of reps with high weight. This causes your body to keep all of the muscle it has and to even gain more. Doing cardio and eating right will cause your muscles to become cut without losing any mass, along with the fact that muscle burns fat on its own. So stick with those heavy weights and only move up in weight, not down.

Tip #3 - High Intensity Cardio - The Best Way to Burn Fat

High Intensity Cardio is definitely the best cardio to do when you are trying to burn fat. High Intensity Cardio can be described as a short burst of high intensity activity, followed by a short period of rest. An example would be doing a series of sprints on a field. Low Intensity cardio is doing a low intensity activity at a constant pace for a certain amount of time. Jogging is a good example of this. HI cardio burns more fat and preserves your muscle, while LI cardio actually causes you to lose some muscle. There have been many studies done on the benefits of HI cardio over LI cardio. So if you want to build muscle and burn fat, stick with the high intensity cardio!
