Building a Koi pond
Building your own Koi pond could save you a lot of money! Buying a pre made pond is expensive. I wanted to buy a pre made pond until a guy on a forum told me: ''it's way cheaper to make it yourself''. I started doing some research and found a great E book on building a Koi pond. I found out that building a normal backyard pond and building a pond for Koi carps are two different things. You need different materials for a Koi pond, so it's very important to build it right the first time.
Pro's & Con's of building your own Koi pond?
-Pro: It's much cheaper.
-Pro: You can design it yourself.
-Con:You need to put some hours work in building it.
-Pro: You will learn what depths are best for your Koi fish and why these are so important and not at all like the depths of pre made ponds.
-Pro: You will learn about different types of dranaige, pond pumps, pond filters, to ensure a healthy pond for your fish Koi.
Pond Skimmer
What is a pond skimmer?
Unfortunatly during the different seasons. You'll get a lot of dust, leaves, brenches and other kind of dirt in you pond. Your water will get blurry and you don't want that to happen.
There are special surface cleaners you can buy to help you clean your pond. I advice you to definitly buy one. These skimmers float thruw your pond and clean it with a build in pond pump. The dirt that it sucks in is kept in a garbage reservoir that's easy to empty. A pond skimmer has a capacity of 2000 l/h and can easily clean 20 m2 of a pond.

My Koi pond
A lot of people are interested in Koi carps these days. The beautiful Japanese fish is lovely to watch and great to feed. I liked building the pond myself. Putting a bit of effort in it. Now I sit beside my pond enjoying the Koi carp. I really advice you to read the E book, because doing it right the first time is so important. I build my pond a year ago and all my Koi carps are still alive and healthy. I feel like a proud dad! Amazon Spotlight
