How To Build Your Own Cat Tree

It may sound daunting, but if you have everything in order, then it's only a process of following some simple instructions. You can purchase everything you need prior to starting your build, but the first thing you need to decide is what kind of Cat Tree you wish to build.

As soon as you have the right tools and Cat Tree Plans, you can start to build.
Many people wonder what tools they will need to build their own Cat Tree. I have done this before, and here is a list of the tools and accessories you will need.

Tools.
Hand Saw
Electric Saw
Pliers
Scissors
Stanley Knife/Razor Knife
Hammer
Electric Screw Driver with Philips Head Tip
Stapler. As you will be stapling Carper, an electric one works best.

It's always best to use the highest quality you can afford. If you are unsure of which timber to use, just ask a person in store, telling them what it is for, and they will be able to assist in the which type of timber is best for you.

Purchasing the Carpet
Your local Home Depot or B & Q, will have carpet in stock, but you may prefer visiting your local Carpet Store which may have end cuts/remnants which they can sell to you cheaply. Depending on which Cat Tree you are going to build, will depend on how much Carpet you are going to require. Now that you have your Cat Tree Plans, your tools and all of your materials, it's time to start building. It should only take you around a weekend to finish your Cat Tree, I am working with Timber and Tools all of the time, and if you are a DIY enthusiast, you should find this a great challenge.

The plans are well laid out, and very easy to follow. Always follow the instructions in order, and don't be tempted to skip anything. In just a couple of days, you will have a high quality Cat Tree, that your beloved Cat or Cats will love to climb on, sleep is and scratch to their hearts content.

If your cat is like mine, then he or she will love Catnip, and what better way to get them crawling all over the brand new Cat tree, than to hide some Catnip under the carpet, during construction.

I hid a small amount of Catnip in the bottom platform of my Cat Tree, and Levi my Cat cannot get enough of the bottom part. He is an older Cat, so with that in mind, I built a Cat Tree with lot's of lower platforms for him to scratch and lounge around on.
