How to Crochet a Mini Stocking

How to Crochet a Mini Stocking 

Materials:
Crochet cotton size 10 (100 yards white, small amounts red and green)
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry needle

Gauge: 9 hdc=1" 7 rows hdc=1"

Stocking sides (make 2)
With white, ch 26
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hk and in each ch across, ch 2, turn (25 hdc).
Row 2: Hdc in same hdc, hdc in each hdc across to last hdc, 2 hdc in last hdc, ch 2 turn (27 hdc).
Rows 3-4: Rep Row 2 (29, then 31 hdc).
Rows 5-8: Hdc in each hdc across, ch 2, turn (31 hdc).
Row 9: Hdc in each of next 16 hdc, ch 2, turn (17 hdc).
Rows 10-22: Hdc in each hdc across, ch 2, turn (17 hdc). Fasten off at end of row 22. Weave in loose ends.

Assembly: With front facing, hold both pieces together. Attach white through both thicknesses in upper left hand corner, ch 1, sc in same sp. Sc evenly around entire edge of stocking to upper right hand corner. Sc across top front of stocking to left corner, ch 11 (for hanging loop), sc in same sp, sc across top back of stocking, joining w sl st in upper right corner. Finish off, weave in loose ends.

Rosebud:
With red, ch 20, 7 dc in 3rd ch from hk, ch 1, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch, ch 1, [sk 1 ch, 6 dc in next ch, ch 1, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch, ch 1] twice, sk 1 ch, 5 dc in next ch, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch, ch 1, 4 dc in each of next 2 ch, ch 2, sl st in last ch, fasten off, leaving an 18" length of cotton for sewing.

Beginning at fastening off point, roll petals into rosebud shape, securing base with a few sts. Tack rosebud to left corner of stocking.

Leaves (make 1):
With green, ch 9, sl st in 1st ch, ch 9, sl st in same ch. Fasten off, leaving an 18" length of cotton for sewing. Tack leaves underneath rosebud.
