eHow

If you've ever thought of working at home you've probably run into several online scams and thought about scrapping the entire idea. Wait just a minute though. There is a site you may not have tried. It's called eHow, and it's a great way to earn a bit of income. This lens will help you learn a bit more about eHow and decide whether it will work for you.

--------------What is eHow?-----------------

What is eHow?

eHow is an internet site featuring articles that tell how to do stuff. Whether you want to know how to stuff a turkey or rotate car tires, there's probably an eHow article on it, and if there's not, you can write it! That's right! In fact the theme at eHow is that the articles are submitted by people just like you and me. In fact, some of them are submitted by me. I have quite a few articles on eHow that I've written about various subjects. If you want, you can submit articles too. Since the articles are written by normal people, not experts, you don't have to deal with hard to understand, technical terms or how-to explanations that are too complicated, the articles are written by people like us, who happen to have done what they're writing about, and so will tell you how to do in simple layman terms spoken from experience.

A Short Description of eHow from Wiki

eHow is an online knowledge resource with more than 337,000 articles and videos offering step-by-step instructions on "how to do just about everything". eHow content is created by both professional experts and amateur members and covers a wide variety of topics organized into a hierarchy of categories.

Through a proprietary social networking platform and user-generated content tools, eHow maintains an online community of users who publish how-tos, images and video clips and receive a percentage of profits earned from traffic and advertising. eHow members can network and collaborate by building a personalized profile, creating friend lists, commenting on articles and interacting in an online forum.

eHow is listed as one of the top 500 internet companies in Alexa's Global Top Sites

------Find Out How-to at eHow------

Find Out What You Want to Know

Looking for information on how to do something? Check out eHow first. So often I forget to check eHow before searching out how to do something, and yet, I end up at eHow anyways eventually. In fact, that's how I found eHow originally, I searched for how to make duck diapers, and who would have guessed, there was an eHow article on it. I've been addicted to the site ever since.

Find Out How to Do Stuff

There are several ways to find out how to do something on eHow. One way is to look through the articles in a certain category. Planning a wedding? Glance through the wedding category and find all sorts of information on doing wedding stuff. Looking under subcategories helps narrow the amount of articles you see to a certain group.

eHow also has a great search feature. You can choose to search for articles on how to do what you want to do or videos that can show you how to do it. If you know someone that has written an article you can also go right to their eHow profile page and look through their articles. You may just find out how to do more than you were looking for :)

My Online Articles

I've written quite a few online "how to" articles, the majority for eHow, though I've done a few for other sites such as Bukisa, Xomba, and Helium. I have a over 50 articles on eHow now, and will be writing more in the future. I have articles about rotating tires, recipes, making cat toys, as well as numerous other subjects. This lens has all my articles arranged by category: My Online Articles

What Much Can You Make on eHow?

It's great to be able to help people by writing articles on how to do things, but it's also great to make a little money doing so. eHow is a great way to do both of these things, but it does take work. eHow is not a place where you can just write a couple articles and pay your mortgage. It's more of a place to get a bit of pocket change.

There are people making a $1000 dollars a month on eHow. That isn't average though. It takes hundreds of articles and a lot of time for the articles to get in search engines and spread around. In fact, they themselves say earning $1000 a month takes about 400 articles and an entire year of getting established.

What most people consider a good average is about $1 per good article per month. This may not sound like much, but the great thing about eHow is that you continue earning. That means over a year that well-written article may earn $12 and if you have 20 of those well-written articles, you could earn $240.
