The Silver Lining....

..to every Squidoo Cloud

You've created a wonderful lens with lots of wonderful information - now you need to get people to look at it. This was the dilemma I was faced with when I created my first lens, SquidU told me there were all sorts of great things out there - go use them, but where to start was the thorny question, never mind how. There had to be an easy way - building a lens was easy so there had to be a correspondingly easy way to promote it and share my passions. I sat there thinking about which Tags to use and the Sun came out from behind the Squidoo Cloud and The Silver Lining shone through. You can find out what I came up with when you Click Here I've just updated the Silver Lining with all sorts of new information ......

Permanent Tip

It's Important

This tip is going to stay here because, to my mind, it is SO important!

When You create your Modules - GIVE THEM A TITLE!
So many people forget this and you see a lens populated with modules titled 'New........Module'. How do your viewers know what's there? How can they find their way back?

When you create your Modules - USE THE DESCRIPTION
What a waste of an opportunity to push your case, market your product, share your passion or whatever.

When you leave those default titles in, it does not give the viewer a good impression of your lens and makes you look like a lazy (or worse - spammy) lensmaster.

Like every rule this one does have it's exceptions - for example if you want two modules to look as if they are one, then you don't want to put any titles or descriptions in but it should be used with discretion as it can make your modules look waaaay to long.

Back Up Your Lens

Must Do.....

This is an absolute MUST DO for every Lensmaster. Back Up your Lens - Jackclee's excellent lens shows you just exactly what to do....
