What Do You Mean By 'Performance'?
How To Do Street Magic
By performance, I'm talking about the story you give. What you tell the audience. Maybe you don't think it's important; but if you want to know how to do street magic, nothing could be more important.If you walk up to someone, ask them to pick a card, flail your hands about doing stuff with the deck without saying a word, and finally reveal their card, they won't be impressed. They'll think your trick was "meh", at best! This isn't how to do street magic!
Even if you don't say much, at least make it fun. You're not showing off, you're having fun with people. Maybe you could say you've got a deck of cards, and the ace of spades is CURSED. You'll appear to put the ace of spades into the center of the deck, or anywhere else in the deck but damn...every time you shake the deck, the card just keeps appearing at the top of the deck! (For those of you familiar with Magic, you'll recognize this as the "Ambitious Card" trick...)
Of course, no one will actually believe the card has a curse on it. But it makes it fun and you'll have people laughing. This is how to do street magic, and this is what I mean by 'performance'.
