How to Draw Dragons- Not! Or...
My Child Inherited My Missing Artistic Gene
I have always been interested in dragons since I've been a little girl. I would have loved to have learned how to draw dragons, but I couldn't draw a stick person, let alone a fierce dragon. Well, I've been in this world for 42 years, and I still can't draw a straight line.My children have inherited my love for fantasy. Out of three kids, one is pretty artistic, one is average, and the other one, bless her heart, took after me. When I look at her drawings, it's like going back in time. She draws the same noses, the same eyes that I used to draw when I was little. And I swear that I didn't corrupt her by teaching her my artistic skills.
Then she started going through her fantasy stage just like I did. She devoured books about fairy tales, fairies, and witches. Then she discovered mythical dragons and she fell in love. She adored dragons of any type- Puff the Magic Dragon types, fire-breathing dragons, cute dragons, and Hagrid's dragon from the Harry Potter books.
Of course, the next logical step after reading all about dragons was to try to draw them. My son could whip up a magical dragon in a few minutes. One of my daughters could draw a respectable facsimile of a dragon if she had a decent visual to use. But my child that loved dragons the most just couldn't produce a decent dragon. She would sit at the kitchen table long after the other two had abandoned dragons, and painstakingly attempt to recreate one of her precious dragons. My heart went out to her.
So I searched the all-knowing internet for some tips on how to draw dragons. I found some pretty cool videos that show how to draw dragons. Most of the drawing videos are simple enough to help a child learn the basics of how to draw dragons. If your child (or you, for that matter), wants to learn how to draw dragons, try checking out these videos.

It never occurred to me that the same drawing and painting book could help non-artistic types. But my daughter wanted to learn how to draw dragons so badly, I decided to try the book with her.
My daughter's drawing ability has improved greatly. She won't be a professional artist, but I would say she has above average artistic skills after applying the techniques in this book.
Try it, I think you'll like it. Even if you don't buy the book, you can still get free drawing lessons.
