Chris Tingle the Christmas Tree

Deep in an icy forest, on a mountain way up high,

Stood a little Christmas tree gazing upwards to the sky.

All around her cold winds blew and snowflakes filled the air,

Icicles as diamonds hung like strands of sparkling hair.

The man up in the moon shone down his brightest light,

Even he wore a bobble hat on this cold crisp winters night.

Yet more snowflakes fall and slowly coat the ground,

From high above the tree tops, not making any sound.

This little tree shivers in the icy wintry storm,

Rubs together branches just to try and keep her warm.

Suddenly above her very high and oh so far,

A warm light shine down on her from a very distant star.

Carried on the wind a soothing voice now can be heard,

Like a gentle angel or the first song of a bird,

An angelic shape floats down from the heavens up above,

It's Angie-la the Christmas star, who brings her warmth and love.

"Hello Chris Tingle, how about it you and me?

Shall we join together and become Tickety's Christmas tree?

It's warm there in the castle so far away from here,

We two together can spread our Christmas cheer !"

And every magical Christmas, so it came to be,

Angie-la joined with Chris Tingle and became Ticketys Christmas tree !

Lets draw a tree

Stage 1

O.k pick up that pencil / pen and we'll begin!
Start near to the top of the page in the middle.
Draw a curved line down and to the left ( see picture ).
From the point of this branch sweep a short line back up and to the right.
Draw another line down and to the left, now sweep a line back up and to the right.( See picture ).
Repeat the above until you have completed six branches ( See picture ).
Now draw in another four to five branches ( Gradually working down to the right ) until you get to the middle ( See picture).
Make an 'n' shape in the middle and begin to draw in the branches out to the right again draw five or six branches ( see picture ).
Start at the top and draw in the trees branches to the right using the same technique as the very first line ( see picture ).

Stage 2

Again starting near the top of the tree draw in curved 'v' shapes ( these are to show the points of the tree's branches - see picture ).
Continue these until you think there are enough points.

Stage 3

Candles are what we will draw next.
Start on the left of your tree top ( about halfway down ).
Draw a curved line ( where the candle will sit ).
At the base of the curved line draw a line up, a small oval shape at the top and another straight line down the other side ( see picture ).
Draw a short wavey line up from the centre of the candle ( for the wick ).
Now draw in the flame round at the bottom up to a point at the top ( see picture ).
Around the flame draw a circle ( this gives the illusion of the flames light ).
Draw in the wax drips running down the candle ( see picture ).
Draw in two more candles, one in the middle and one on the right. ( see picture ).

Stage 4

It's time to put in the first row of baubles.
Starting on branch furthest to the left draw a loop over the very tip of the branch, now draw another loop just in from the first one.( see picture ).
At the base of the loop draw an oval shape ( see picture ).
Now slightly higher up draw in another oval ( to make the top of the bauble clasp - again see picture).
On one edge of the bauble draw in crescent shape ( to give the illusion of light shining on the bauble ).
Repeat the above steps and draw in three more baubles ( see picture).

Stage 5

Starting to the left hand side just next to the Bauble ( see picture ).
Draw in a short sweepingline down and to the left from the point of this branch sweep a short line back up and to the right.
Draw another line down and to the left, now sweep a line back up and to the right.( See picture ).
Repeat the above until you have completed eight branches ( See picture ).
Start at the top and draw in the trees branches to the right using the same technique as the very first line ( see picture ).
Now across the bottom working in a semi-circular shape draw in eleven to twelve branches ( Gradually working around to the right ) until you meet the right hand branch point ( See picture).

Stage 6

Between the two central baubles draw in two oval shapes for Chris Tingles eyes ( see picture ).
Draw semi-circles for the eye lids.
Now for the eyes, draw a circle at the base of each oval.
In the middle of each circle draw in a very small circle ( to make the pupils - see picture ).
Around the edge of the black pupil draw lines outwards ( these make the eyes sparkle ).
Directly under the eyes draw in a large oval shape for the nose, draw in semi-circles for each of the nostrils ( see picture ).
Draw a curve directly under Chris Tingles nose ( see picture ).
For the lips draw in an 'M' shape in the centre on top of the curved line,Directly underneath draw in a 'W' shape. ( see picture ).
At each end of the curved line draw in two short curved lines for the cheeks ( see picture ).
Draw in the wrinkle lines on the lips and eyelids ( see picture ).

Stage 7

Again draw in curved 'v' shapes ( these are to show the points of the tree's branches - see picture ).
Continue these until you think there are enough points on this section.
Candles are what we will draw next.
Start on the left of the second section of the tree ( about halfway down ).
Draw in one more candle on the right. ( see picture ).
It's time to put in the second row of baubles.
Repeat the above steps and draw in five more baubles ( see picture).

Stage 8

Draw in :-
The branches, 'V' shapes, Candles and Baubles as before.
( see the picture for help ).

Stage 9

Add in the final part of the tree.
Again drawing the branches, 'V' shapes, Candles and Baubles as before.
( see the picture for help ).
Finish the tree by adding the trunk, drawing in two curved lines at the base ( see picture ).
Finally draw in the parcels and presents under the tree ( you can draw any shapes you like or copy mine ), It's up to you!

Stage 10

Finish adding the detail to your parcels.
Add in the bark lines on the trunk of the tree.

Stage 11

Name your tree.

Stage 12

Finally sign your Picture.
