Ceramic Tile Material Basics
What is a ceramic tile
Ceramic tile material is hardened sand or silica along with material to bind it altogether and the heating causes the cermaic tile to be very very brittle and hence be very carfeul while drilling a hole thorugh it.
Mark the Aim
Spot the place where to drill the hole
Make sure that you mark accurtely the place where to drill a hole using the drilling machine. The spot should be marked using a pencil or a marker.
Duct Tape
It helps
The duct tape is usually the best thing to put over the tile and at the plce where you have marked with a marker where to drill the hole.
The drill will not slip on the duct tape and alos will avoid any scratches to the surface of the tile even if it slips.

Drill Bit
Diamonds are the hardest material
Most of the cases you will be using the carbide tip but you can also use a drill bit which uses the diamon drill bits for the same drilling purpose. These diamond drill bits are the most important tool for any masonry and drilling work for example concrete drilling or the glass drilling.
Drill Speed
Go Slow
The drill speed should be very less and begin with 100 to 200 rpm speed. If you go fast the drill bit is likley to brak pluc as you do not have that initial foothold the chnaces of slipping are much higher.
Do not put much pressure on to the drill as the ceramic tiles are very brittle so go light on pressure.
Make sure that you put lubricant like oil or anyother lubricant to prevent excessive heating.

Additional Warnings
This will help
MAke sure that you always use goggles for doing the work. Save your eyes
Also make sure that you do not out extra pressure on the drill as it will break.
MAke sure that you use variable speed drill than the hammer drill.Hammer drill produces more vibrations and hence can cause the cremaic tile to break.
