How to find crock pot replacement parts

In the good old days of the '70s you didn't have to worry much about getting replacement parts for your crock pot as there was only the lid, a cord and if you were lucky, a removable crock base. You would just throw it out if you broke something or it didn't work.

Today, there are different models, sizes and shapes and many accessories for your crock pot.

I love my crock pots and I currently have two. My antique '70s one and a new smaller round one. You get attached to the ones you have and if, for instance, I found I needed a new lid I would definitely be looking to replace it and not rush out and buy a new crock pot.

A good place to look is an eBay auction where people sell parts and accessories as well as whole crock pots, new and old. I think if I saw my old crock pot on eBay I would buy it for parts. Manufacturers only keep some stocks of superseded models so eBay is often one of the only places to find this stock or limited special additions.
