Abs in general play a vital role in our posture, in the way we present ourselves to others and also believed to have a get impact on self confidence. I don think not all of us gets the opportunity to flaunt our abs but at least there is always an opportunity when people would rate you on your appearance. It could happen anywhere such as your office, your neighborhood, public stations etc. Hence if not a six pack, a descent strong abs which is worth a neutral comment is always advised. Be it a beginner or an expert, everyone struggles to get those abs tight. And its never too late to try for it!

Basics Of Getting Abs:
The first and the most fundamental factor which needs to be remembered in any abs workout is that "nothing can be achieved over night until you work it out everyday". This would turn out to be a prime factor on due course of one's workout.It's not that only athletes and sport persons can get such strong abdomen. Those are just myths and it is to be noted that everyone has got a strong abs within them, just that it is covered with excessive fat and are invisible and hidden.
In order to get that abs visible, one would need to reduce the excess fat and develop a lean muscle. For which the body fat % plays a very vital role. For men, it should get below 10-11% of the body fat and the abs would probably pop out at 7-8% and in the case of women it should get below 16-19% of the body fat.

Ab Crunches- The Right Way!:
The crunches at the beginner level starts with lying flat on the floor on your back. Hands crossed over the chest. Bend your legs a little and spread apart with foot still on the floor. Now try to bend forward concentrating your power on your abs. Make sure you don't injure your back or your neck. Take it easy being it your first try. Always a slow and steady progression gives you better result and total control over your body. Repeat the steps as much as you can.If you think you are getting used to it, try keeping your hands touching the pinna of your ear and repeat the routine. Don't place your hand at the back of your head coz when you try to bend forward there is a possibility that you may pull your head forward causing injuries. Moreover it will not cause any effect on your abs.

Resistance And Frequency Of Workout:
One of the reasons that many people spending lots of time doing crunches and fail to develop a six pack is that, the regular old crunches won't provide much resistance to develop those six packs. However it is not a waste of time to workout doing crunches. For a beginner who intends to get their abs toned, doing crunches would certainly help them a lot.One would immediately come up with question of how long should the abs training be? Well, it is not necessary to workout for half an hour or more. Just a 5-10 minutes abs workout would be sufficient. As long as the routine is continued almost everyday or at least 3 days a week, it is sufficient enough to show a better result.
