Whenever I am asked 'how do I get a six pack fast?' I always say that diet and exercise are the key to getting the body you want. You probably know you have to exercise and that you need to exercise the muscles of your abdomen to get them well defined. The problem most people have, however; is that their abs are covered with a layer of fat that hides what they have been working so hard to achieve. A proper diet can fix that problem and help you to get a six pack fast.

Your diet needs to consist of foods that will feed your muscles while you lose fat. There are certain foods you can eat that will help you to develop your muscles. There are also foods that will prevent fat from growing and increase your metabolism.

There is also a right way to eat. This includes eating breakfast every day. You need breakfast to feed your body through the day. When you skip breakfast you will end up eating more throughout the day. You will eat bigger lunches and dinners. The food you eat for breakfast is used as fuel so you can do the activities of the day. Lunch and dinner are more likely to turn to fat since your activity level is less after these meals and this is especially true of dinner. Dinner should be the smallest meal of the day since you do fewer activities after you eat it.

Try eating five or six times a day instead of three times a day. Make these meals small but healthy. You can include such foods as fresh fruits and vegetables, lean protein and some carbs in these meals. Fish is a good food to eat too. Fish will supply you with the good fats that your body needs to develop muscles.

Exercise is very important in developing a six pack. You need to do exercises that target your abs, but you also should exercise the rest of your body. Do not just do abs exercises though. Make sure you exercise your large muscles as well. By working your large muscles you will also work your abs. Do leg lifts and crunches. Use an exercise ball if you have one to make your exercises more productive.

Weight lifting is another method you can use along with your abdominal exercises to work the muscles in your body. Weight training will work plenty of muscles. Since your abdominal muscles are part of the core muscle group, when you lift weights you will work the stomach muscles.

Something else you should include in your exercise regime is cardiovascular exercises. The cardio exercises will help to improve your metabolism. You want a good metabolism, a fast metabolism, to burn fat. Cardio exercises can be enjoyable. You can play a game of basketball for a good cardio workout. Some other cardios are swimming, rowing, tennis, brisk walks, running, jogging, bike riding, and dancing. As you can see some of these can actually be fun as well as rewarding. Aerobics is another cardio that can be fun and rewarding. Put on your favourite music and workout to some good tunes.

If you prefer you can make changes to the cardio exercises you do, so your body does not get used to one type of exercise. Mix up the dancing with bike riding. Take brisk walks in the park or go for a jog part of the way. There is no reason why you have to stick to one certain cardio. If you like to swim go swimming a couple days a week and then mix it up with a dance class a couple days out of the week. You would be surprised what a great workout dancing and swimming are. They will work your entire body. They work your large muscles as well as your abs.

If you want to show off a nice six pack this summer, remember to diet and exercise. When you do these two things you can have a well-defined six pack. As long as you stick to a good exercise plan and work hard, you will be able to get what you want. Stick to your diet. Eat healthy and correctly and you will see the fat on your stomach disappear. Even after you get a six pack, stick to your exercises and diet to keep it. A little hard work goes a long way.
