Now, on with the lens . . .

I hate flies and with the increase in global warming, cats, cat litter and general madness in my life, somehow I got flies. And, these weren't the normal die when you spray them flies. Now, they weren't large and gross; they are small house flies.

But they are still flies. I got rid of them once, cleaned up the mess that the flies made when they got stuck in my house, and got rid of cat rugs, litter and such to get rid of their larvae - otherwise know as maggots.

THIS JUST IN: Scroll down to see the Japanese lady who "hypnotizes" flies. Now this is very strange but worth watching.

Now, I had a legitimate excuse for things to get in this shape.

First, my mom was dying in the hospital, so I wasn't as diligent as I could be.

Second, one single house fly got in the door.

Third, it is November. Who would think that flies still lived in the Northeastern portion of the United States. Be that as it may, I went out and got some spray, went back out and got some more spray and had a load of drunk, BUT NOT DEAD DAMNED FLIES.

They are in one room - my bedroom. And I sprayed and cleaned and sprayed and cleaned and they went away and just came back.

So, of course, being part of the 21st century, I Googled it - How In The Hell Do I Get Rid Of These Damned Flies!

Amazon's Strange Fly Stuff

Hmmmm...... Not exactly what I was looking for

I went to Amazon. Maybe, they had a book on the subject. Well, I found that if want to know more about this pest. Amazon can't tell you about the common house fly but they do have some strange "fly-like" stuff. So, I moved on.

Kill House Flies With Newspapers & Fly Swatters

Forget About It!

My cats and me are still alive but we still had the flies. It made me feel better with the fly swatter but it is an urban myth. You ever try and kill a fly with a rolled up newspaper or Dollar Store ratty-assed fly swatter? IT DOESN'T WORK! Either that or I am totally uncoordinated from all the fly spray and cleaning fluids I've inhaled lately trying to kill the flies.

They are laughing at me; I know it.

Homemade Fly Dissolving Miracle

They could sell this stuff - Talk About Simple

This is too easy! But it works! Sweet Revenge! They are now dropping like flies. I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. I am giddy with power of dish soap. I am also probably slightly stoned from fly spray. Who cares! They're dying!

Fill a spray bottle with warm water and a few drops of dish soap. Shake well before spraying it on the flies. This is technically referred to as an insecticidal soap used more often in gardening. Basically the soap finds its way into the fly and dissolves--ahem, I mean cleans--all of its critical organs. This is a great way to kill flies without the mess associated with killing flies.

Now That The Fly Problem Is Solved

I'm Buying Myself A New Ipod . . .

It's been a tough year and the flies were just the icing on the cake. Now that' I've got that handled, I'm going to chill out with some music. What better way than a new iPod. And, if the flies return, I've got a load of dish detergent, a spray bottle and lots of motivation. Maybe, I'll listen to music while I zap them. LOL!

The mosquito trap works by mimicking the smell and sight of prey, fooling mosquitoes into sensing a blood meal close at hand. But when they get near, powerful fans capture them and force them into containers.

We've swatted so many flies it's not funny. Our dog is now frightened of the fly swatter because of the loud noise it makes when we kill them. I've tried the bug zapper racket thing and all I did was get tired.
