Love handles are not as lovely as it sounds.  They are basically the fat around your waist that is next to impossible to lose.  Men in their middle age get it easily as the midsection is one of the first regions in male's body that fat is stored.  Women are luckier while fat normally likes to live in their hip, buttock and thigh.

How about depriving yourself of all carbohydrate like bread, potato, rice and only eat protein like the once popular Atkins diets and low carb diets?  Do you really want to go for the extreme and take extra risk for high cholesterol and fat level?  What is the safe and effective way to lose love handles without jeopardizing your health? 

Here are the 3 easy steps to get rid of love handles:

1.      Know your food.

Avoid junk food. Read food labels at grocery store to food with saturated and hydrogenated fat. Reduce intake of fried foods, processed sugars and snacks. Eat less but not avoid high glycemic foods like potatoes, rice and white bread, which provide your fuel for daily activity.

Eat more vegetables and fruits, which not only fill your stomach and also provide you rich nutrition and lower the risk of heart disease and stroke.

2.      Get a workout.

Start exercising as soon as possible. Jogging, walking, kickboxing, tai chi, etc are good choices. Choose the one you enjoy the most. You can seek the advice from certified fitness trainers or even take a one-on-one session with them, which should benefit you in a long run. 3.      Stay focused.

The formula for losing fat is simple: Burn more calorie than the intake. You need to set realistic goal and be positive along the road.  Sooner or later, you will find yourself in front of the mirror, saying," I deserve it!"
