1. Know your food.
Avoid junk food. Read food labels at grocery store to food with saturated and hydrogenated fat. Reduce intake of fried foods, processed sugars and snacks. Eat less but not avoid high glycemic foods like potatoes, rice and white bread, which provide your fuel for daily activity.
Eat more vegetables and fruits, which not only fill your stomach and also provide you rich nutrition and lower the risk of heart disease and stroke.
2. Get a workout.
Start exercising as soon as possible. Jogging, walking, kickboxing, tai chi, etc are good choices. Choose the one you enjoy the most. You can seek the advice from certified fitness trainers or even take a one-on-one session with them, which should benefit you in a long run.
