Learning How to Give Up Smoking Permenantly

I smoked for the better part of two decades, and like many, seemed to always look for that magic formula for how to give up smoking. Finally, after years of struggle, I found my answer to giving up smoking for good.

I probably tried just about every method, from quitting cold turkey, to actually buying an electronic cigarette that "lights up" on the end to make it look like it was smoking (how sad is that?).

What worked for me to finally stop, was a combination of three activities:
1) Finding the best programs to quit smoking that were 100% nicotine free, and all natural to use.

2) Developing my detailed schedule to quit.

3) Finding the right replacement for the oral fixation.

CigArrest Gave Me the Tools to Learn How to Give Up Smoking for Good

Learning how to give up smoking using the CigArrest program was extremely easy for me to do. There were so many benefits that fit my needs:

1) Non nicotine based supplements - All of the products that are part of the "Quit Smoking Now "
program are 100% all natural, and most importantly, do not contain any addictive substances. Too many other smoking cessation programs simply replace the nicotine in cigarettes with nicotine in pills or gum. This can lead to becoming addicted to those products instead of cigarettes themselves.

2) Complete Health Program - CigArrest also has a complete health program that will get your lung detoxification moving much quicker, and provides detailed, step by step support during the stop smoking program. This was an invaluable tool for me.

3) Proven Results- CigArrest has a great record of success, and is not a fly by night company that is only out to peddle the latest hypnosis or other scam to quit smoking. Millions of people, including me, have been successful users of the product.

Developing a Detailed Schedule to Help How to Give Up Smoking

The second big key for me was developing my own schedule to quit smoking. By being able to clearly map out a strategy, I was able to clearly plan for the day I finally stopped.

The schedule itself was not challenging, but it provided a clear plan and schedule on how I would get down to being a permanent non-smoker.

There were two major components of this schedule.

First, I developed a step down plan to slowly reduce my smoking on a daily basis, leading up to my quit date. To calculate this plan, I reduced by 1/5 the amount of cigarettes I would smoke each day, for the two weeks leading to my quit date.

For example, if I was a pack a day smoker, then for the 14 days prior to quitting, I would go from 20, to 16, to 13, to 11 and so on, until the last few days I was only smoking one or two cigarettes during the day.

Also, and this is important, when learning how to give up smoking I realized that a big reason I would start again is I would find smokes lying around. Make sure you eliminate ALL smoking materials from your house and car, so the temptation is not right in front of you.

The second component of my program to quit smoking was making sure my family and friends were well aware of the activity. This provided additional support structure and accountability to reach my goal.

Learing How to Give Up Smoking - Replacing the Oral Fixation

Most smokers also develop an oral fixation that further feeds the need to have a cigarette hanging from their lips. I was no exception. However, I found a unique trick that helped me get over this portion of the problem.

It will sound simple, but the answer for me was popsicles! Namely, the freezer ice popsicles that come in the plastic tubes that you can suck on a little bit at a time.

Not only were they tasty, but I was able to get the same oral sensation of smoking a cigarette by sucking on the flavor - ice popsicles. And yes, I bought them in major bulk quantity from a local Wal Mart!
