How To Have A Lucid Dream

If you are searching for a way to have a lucid dream instantly, you have come to the right place. You will learn a method that can give you instant results and if you do it properly you will have a lucid dream just after reading this article.

Note: Most lucid dreaming techniques give the first results in 7-30 days.

Why and how this method works?

It works because it takes care of all the aspects that are connected to instant lucid dreaming. It is basically the right combination of many lucid dreaming techniques and tricks.

The 5 Basic Steps Of The Optimal WILD method:

  1. Learn how to do a basic WILD.
  2. Learn about MILD and integrate it into the WILD.
  3. Learn about WBTB and integrate it into the WILD.
  4. Optimize your body and brain chemistry.
  5. Optimize your brainwaves.

WILD(wake induced lucid dream)

What is a wake induced lucid dream?

Simply, it is a way to trick your body into falling asleep while maintaining consciousness.

Normally the brain goes to sleep first and then the body follows, this time your body will go in sleep mode but you(consciousness) will stay awake. This means that you will probably experience the transition from wakefulness to sleep paralysis which is a pretty weird and fun experience:

I fall to sleep in bed in a strange way, I slowly feel my body and brain start buzzing with intent like an angry swarm of bees in my head and mouth, at that moment I am paralyzed. This is how it usually starts. One time, I was in this state, laying on my back, my eyes could move but my body would not

How to do a WILD:

1. Prepare

  • Make sure you won't get interrupted
  • Darken the room and insolate it from external noise

2. Relax

  • Lie down on your back and find a comfortable position because the next 10-20 minutes you will need to stay put and not move, the slightest irritations can cause problems latter on
  • Take a minute or two to relax your whole body, one body part at a time.

3. Focus internally and don't move

  • The urges you get to move are test signals from the body to the brain, if you don't move the body will think that you are sleeping. If you move you will just reset the timer and the process will take more time.
  • You must be in the sweet spot between being too relaxed and too excited. If you are to relaxed you will probably fall asleep and loose consciousness, if you are to anxious you will never fall asleep, you might only get partial sleep paralysis. Just observe the weird sensations and try not to react to them to strongly.
  • It is best to focus on your breathing and count, inhale - one, exile - I am lucid dreaming. Do this until you get to sleep paralysis.
  • When you get to sleep paralysis, don't focus on the sensations too much, just observe and try to use them as checkpoints that tell you how close you are from entering the lucid dream

4. Entering the dream

  • Option 1

Shortly after you experience the sensations of SP(sleep paralysis) you will notice that everything you imagine instantly materializes. Just think of where you want to be and you will almost instantly see that place. Now realize that you are the observer who is watching that place.

  • Option 2

Sometimes, after the sleep paralysis, you might experience the transparent eyelids effect. This is when your physical and dream body are stuck overlapping, and If you try to move you might end up moving the physical body and waking yourself up.

To determine which body is the dream body, its best to use your imagination. Since you are in a dream world, everything you imagine will come true, so just imagine a place of where you want to be and KNOW that you are the observer who is watching that place. From there you can do anything.

That was the basic WILD technique and is all is enough for you to have a lucid dream. However if you want double your chances read the next part.

MILD(mnemonic Induction of a lucid dream)

Mnemonic induction is basically using every way to increase your intention and certainty for experiencing a lucid dream. Now there are many ways to do this, the ones which work best for instant lucid dreaming are:

  • Strong Affirmations
  • Reading about lucid dreaming to increase your desire
  • Having a plan about what you are going to do in your lucid dream

Now, just few words about your affirmations and how they work. You must believe what you say and to do that you have to find a feeling of certainty and trust. Two, when you include visualization in your affirmation it will work 2x times better. So try to visualize the whole process of entering your lucid dream and then continue and visualize the things you plan to do.

If you want optimal chances, do at least 2 minutes of affirmations before you go to bed.

Now, the next part will give you at least 5x times better chances for a successful WILD.

WBTB(Wake Back To Bed)

This is a simple concept based on your alertness after getting some sleep. The optimal conditions for WILD, and lucid dreaming in general are after 6 hours of sleep and then 1 ½ hours of wakefulness. This works because you had enough sleep and you are alert enough to keep your consciousness when you go back in bed.

Also it is a thing connected to the 5 stages of sleep and helps you execute the WILD in the optimal timing (when your REM stages are the longest).

This is the thing of the most importance for increasing the chances for successful WILD attempt.

Optimizing Your Body Chemistry for Lucid Dreaming

Orange Juice relaxes your body but keeps your brain active, that's a killer combination for WILD attempts. It's best to drink at least a glass of orange juice 30 minutes before going to bed.

Optimizing Your Brainwaves for Lucid Dreaming

When your brain is introduced to 2 different sound frequencies for each ear, it automatically creates a third frequency to level them out.

There is a new technology called binaural beats out there that manipulates this concept in order to create a specific frequency that can alter the state of mind in a desired way.

It might sound complicated but the important thing is that it works. And we can use it for forcing your brain in the lucid dreaming state.

  1. You can jump steps but the chances for a successful attempt will go down.
  2. Go to sleep when you regularly do, and set the alarm clock to wake you up after 6 hours of sleep.
  3. Stay up for 1 ½ hours.
  4. Drink some orange juice
  5. In the last 30 minutes read something about lucid dreaming, dream journals, techniques or simply write down what you want to dream about
  6. 5 minutes before you go back to bed, make sure that you won't get interrupted and do at least 2 minutes of affirmations:"I am lucid dreaming" and visualize how you are having a successful WILD attempt.
  7. Go in bed and perform the WILD technique.
  8. Be aware of the fact that you might experience a false awakening.
