Let's cover some information about marble tile first.  Marble has been the choice for floor and wall tiles for thousands of years.  It was chosen for it's cooling benefits and it's elegant, rich look.  Since marble is a natural material, there will not be a set pattern and the color will be varied.  Just think about the awesome layout potential you will have.

When you go shopping to purchase your marble tile ask the seller if they allow for a percentage of expected breakage during shipment.  This will allow you to order extra so you will not have to delay your project.

Here are some basics when learning how to install marble tile.  Always, now this is very important, always start with a clean, dry, level surface.  If your surface is not clean your marble tiles will loosen.  If your surface isn't level your marble tiles will crack.  Any one of these mistakes will ruin your project and these mistakes can be very costly.  I can't stress enough how important it is to start with a clean, dry and level surface.

Now , this part you can have fun with.  Play with your marble tiles to create the layout you want.  When you find the layout that you want mark the center.  That is where you will be starting.

Watch out for the color thinset you use on your marble tile.  Nearly all of the light colored marble tiles will have a degree of transparency to them.  Using the wrong color thinset can change or distort the color of your marble tiles.  Some sellers won't tell you that when they tell you how to install marble tile.
