Where to start with Learning to speak German
You're not going to learn to speak German over night, it just isn't going to happen! You can learn the basics of it in a very short time though and when when you learn the basics, the rest will follow surprisingly quickly.The easiest way to learn German, (outside of what I said above) is by doing a course on it. There's plenty of language courses out there that you can download instantly from the internet and get started on right away.
It was through an on-line course that I learned to speak German. I was surprised how easy it was actually! I could do it in my spare time. I could dedicate time to it. I could do it in the middle of the night if I couldn't sleep! That's the beauty of studying at home! You make the rules!

Why learn German?
Why would you want to learn German! What's the point?
If your reading this then you obviously got your own reasons for wanting to learn how to speak German! Just in case you can't remember why I'll add a few reasons here.
* You can impress your friends and family by being able to speak a second language that isn't French!
* You can talk to your German Shepard in it's own language!
* You'll feel you have the right to drive a Mercedes Benz!
* German women are hot! You'll be able to chat them up and understand every word they're saying when they turn you down!
Seriously though......
* Germany is the most widely spoken language in Europe. As well as Germany, German is also an official language of Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein.
* Germany is the Number 1 export nation in the world. German companies are everywhere! If your looking for employment being able to speak German will give you an edge.
* 1 in 10 books are published in German. If you like reading learning German will allow you to read more books than you could if you didn't know German. Only a small percentage of books written in German are translated in to English compared to the amount that are translated in to German
* Learning German is required/recommended by many undergraduate/graduate programs. The Germans lead the field n so many areas that being able to read German is considered such an asset it's a requirement in some collages and universities.
* It's quite an easy language to learn. German words are spelled phonetically. Once you learn the sounds the rest is easy!

I learned to speak very good German in only 2 months of starting to study it. If you think you need to be smart to speak German your very much mistaken!
Look at me. Academically gifted I am not! I left school with out so much as a swimming certificate (I still can't swim) but I was lucky enough to find something that makes German easy to learn!
If your having fun with something it makes the whole process of learning much easier and keeps the desire to learn alive.
Learning on-line was a pleasure! Fun, easy and effective. It's hard to not learn when doing the on-line course I did!
So, don't waste any more time considering it! Learn to speak German fast!
The sooner you start the sooner you'll be speaking another language so stop dreaming and start doing!

- I studied German as my major language in high school and loved learning it. It made so much sense ... after I studied Latin. I remember, "arbeit macht das leben zeuss." Does that sound right?
