How To Make Soy Candles At Home
Which one is best? Which one is easiest?
Trying many different methods to see which works best for you can be very frustrating and expensive!
To avoid this confusion, I will explain How To Make Soy Candles so that both beginners and the more experienced will have detailed instructions on how to make beautiful soy candles the first time, and every time.
Benefits of Making Soy Candles
Why is soy better?
Soy candles are made from the hydrogenated oil of soybeans. In the 1990's, a professional candle maker named Michael Richards wanted to create a natural wax candle alternative to the more costly beeswax. The first pure soy wax candles were manufactured in 1996.There are several advantages of learning how to make soy candles:
1) They have a low melting point, which means the melted wax isn't as hot as paraffin wax. In fact, melted pure soy wax will not burn your skin when you come into contact with it! Thus, it is a safe product to have around children and pets. The low melting point also allows for more even burning, and disperses more fragrance (when scents are added).
2)They burn cleaner, produce less soot, and are less toxic.
3)They are biodegradable.
4)Soy wax is easy to clean. Soap and hot water easily break down the vegetable oil.
