How to play guitar chords - the basics
In your life of a guitar player you'll want to learn how to play guitar chords that are mostly used in songs of any genre. There are nine guitar chords you can't live without and five more to be at hand when needed.
Basic Guitar Chords
Can't live without 'em!
That would be: C, D, E, F, G, A, dm, em and am
What does these letters mean?
If you see a capital 'E', you're dealing with E major chord, and if you see 'em' or 'Em' then you know that is the E minor chord. That's all you need to know so far. If you look at any one of those chords, you will find it very self explanatory how to play 'em. Each number represents one finger, and where you see the dot on the fretboard there you need to push! :)That's it! Simple as that.

you realize that you can make many variations of the same chord, if you know your music theory. There are chord database websites that have thousands of chords listed!
But to make things simple, you need to memorize only small numbers of mostly used guitar chords to be able to play most songs.
However, there are other important things to know if you want to be a great guitar player, and most people struggle to learn good playing technique. How to learn guitar chords might be an easy task comparing to that, so please, save yourself from trouble, and start playing using correct technique, or you'll have a lots of trouble if you get it wrong at start.
