The second step: Fixing your resume

show them who you are

ok now that your ready with your requirements lets focus on your resume. there are thousands of designs, templates, and ways you can create your resume but always remember that the most important thing on your resume is not how fancy you can make it look but how organized and simple you can make it.

here are the important parts of your resume that companies look at:
NAME
PERSONAL CONTACT INFORMATION
OBJECTIVE
CAREER SUMMARY
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
(Position Descriptions)
EDUCATION

TIP: for professional experience and education always put the stronger one first

now to add extra muscle to your resume you can include:

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
HONORS & AWARDS
PUBLICATIONS
PUBLIC SPEAKING
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
FOREIGN LANGUAGE AND TRAVEL
PERSONAL INFORMATION
PROFESSIONAL & COMMUNITY AFFILIATIONS
REFERENCES

always remember that your resume represents who you are on paper. so simplicity is the best way to do it. use proper fonts like arial or times new roman and use readable font sizes.

step three : look the part

Putting on the ritz

One of the best things you can do when you show up for an interview is look like a million dollars. we don't mean putting on a tux or gown, but showing up looking like you already got the job.

Put on the best pair of clothes stashed in the back of your closet, shine Those shoes till you see that gleam in your eye.

one of the biggest things you can do are the small stuff like getting a good hair-cut, trimming those nails, brushing those pearly whites and for the ladies plucking or shaving those eyebrows.

TIP: if your a smoker, refrain from smoking before the interview but if you cant resist the temptation make sure you bring along a mint and something to cover the smell of the cigarettes like perfume or cologne.

now once you look the part its very important to FEEL the part. walk with a stride of confidence.

TIP: One thing that one should remember is that to always expect the unexpected. there was a time that a person wore a pair of socks that had holes in them and he had to undergo a medical examination in the interview, so he had to undress and the people got a big snicker out of that. so the moral of the story is "even your under garments count when you say dressed to impress"

step four: body language

actions speak louder than words

here's a great web page that we manage to find. it pretty much covers the topic.
