So You Are Really Sick of Being in Debt? Really?

Being in debt is not fun and it is often misunderstood. People in debt just really need our help to get them through a difficult time.

I've lived though terrible debt myself and after having made that hard journey I now help people find good answers to bad money troubles.

I'm just here to help. If you or anyone you knows is suffering in silence and needs some good heartfelt advice about how to get out of debt, I'd be happy to help.

The Darkest Day in Debt

You know you are headed towards bottom when you can't sleep, you wake early, your stomach is churning and you can't focus on, well, anything!

Debt impacts so many parts of our lives. It lowers our sex drive, increases our weight, increases our stress levels, increases problems at work or in relationships, and creates uncertainty and depression in our daily lives.

Getting out of debt doesn't happen by finding a magic wand that can be waved. Difficult financial problems are almost always the result of factors beyond your control.

All it takes to break most budgets is a reduction in income, change in marital status, accident or illness. All of these factors are typically things which you are the recipient of.

But does it have to be that way? Unfortunately, the answer is that it does. For all of those people that try to find solutions, alone and isolated, they tend to jump at a few options; credit counseling, debt management plans, DMPs, bankruptcy, or a debt consolidation loan.

But being deep in the dark days of debt does not make you an expert on how to best deal with debt. Instead it almost makes you the least qualified person to properly tackle your issue.

The reason is, you are not a consumer debt expert, you are learning on the job, you are emotionally attached to the situation and can be manipulated by experienced debt collectors and creditors. On top of all that you need to factor in the fog and depression that you may be suffering. That fog and depression can lead to your inability to take action, develop a real plan or implementing it.

The first step to exploring your situation is to find some way to evaluate your situation and put everything on the table. That might mean selling the house, the car, the boat. It might mean looking for a different job or reducing favorite expenses. Maybe your situation is more fragile, in that case maybe you need to speak to a bankruptcy attorney.

I'm here to not sell you anything, just give you good, honest, debt advice, if you want it. Since every situation is different, there is little generalized advice that applies to your situation. Instead my approach is to provide personal advice, for free, through my site at GetOutOfDebt.org.

If you need me, I'm here for you.

Big hug.

Steve
