How to Promote, Market and Sell Your Art

Despite what you may have been told, you can make a living as an artist! I've done it for nearly 40 years and so have many of my friends.

There are many avenues to becoming a professional artist. When I refer to "artist" I also include the terms photographer, sculptor, and the other visual arts. It doesn't matter whether you consider yourself a "commercial" artist (graphic designer, illustrator) or a "fine" artist. You can and should receive payment for your creativity and hard work!

The world often thinks of artists as bohemian types, sleeping until noon, splashing a few daubs of paint on a canvas or simply clicking a shutter and calling it a day. Those of us who create art for a living know it is hard work, determination, long hours and a passion that rules our lives. Being a professional artist is work, but if you're willing to work you can get paid for it!

Additionally, there will be links to information on copyrighting, trademarks, legal issues, art resources, tutorials, interviews with other successful artists and more as the site grows into itself.
