eBay Pulse will show you the ten most popular searches within any category. Don't overlook the "Most Watched Items" section on here.

It's located toward the bottom and consists of the ten auctions within the selected category that is getting the most attention among eBay users.

How To Start An eBay Business - Discussion Boards

Most people tend to overlook the power of eBay's own discussion boards! You can access them at: http://pages.ebay.com/community/boards/index.html

Practically every category has its own related forum. Before you begin to sell anything on eBay, I would do two specific things on these forums.

First of all, get to know who the active participants on the forum are. The active ones are the ones who have a strong passion for the category as well as the products they are selling.

It will be easy to find them because they have the most posts on the forum.

Next, take the time and look at some of their past posts and take notes on what products tends to sell well.

Also, look at their marketing strategies for their auction listings as well as any offline marketing that they do.

It might take you a few days to get enough information but it will be time well spent!

Product knowledge is fine but you also need to know the basics when it comes to selling online as well as how to maximize your time and resources when it comes to building your business.

Best of all, these have all been transcribed and accessible for all members. You can access these workshops at: http://workshops.ebay.com/forum.jspa?forumID=93
